"Friendly Staff"
I enjoyed my stay. The staff was extremely helpful. I thought that the room was OK, but the shower/bath area was a bit cramped. During my stay, I received a notice that the hotel would be conducting routine pest control. I found that to be an inconvenience because I did not feel comfortable leaving my clothes unpacked. "Nice but not worth the money spent."
The lobby was open, airy and beautiful, the service was attentive and the setting was superb. But that is where it ends. Our room was nice but way overpriced for what it was. It was worth about 1/3 of the price we paid. It was an "ocean view" which means that one sees a tiny sliver of ocean. The decor of the building was sadly in need of a redo. Had […] we paid 1/3 of the cost I would have been satisfied with the quality. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Loved it!"
Really a beautiful hotel - open-air and spacious, a fantastic layout and more intricate and unique than I expected from a chain hotel group. Perfect location - walk to the beach or shops, or drive a few miles to the stores and restaurants in Kihei. The staff was GREAT, very kind and polite. For the price, just do it. The Grand Wailea down the block […] is even more impressive, but is overkill and much pricier. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

Additional charge for this and for that - passport fee, valet fee etc makes ur vacation start to suck. and breakfast buffet was stale- when compared to competitors. You need to book stalls , pool side table, even beach side tables. comon..Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great Hotel for the whole family!"
Was not sure what to expect but we were pleased with the Hotel. The best part was the Ocean front view! We were about 20 feet away from the Ocean! I loved the soft bed no backaches the whole trip! The Breakfast Buffet was excellent and the staff was so friendly and helpful! The only thing I can complain is they need to vacuum the tile floor everyday. "**PERFECT VACATION SPOT FOR THE WHOLE FAMILY!!!**"
This hotel is GORGEOUS!!! WoW! We were VERY impressed! Everyone was friendly and VERY helpful!!! The breakfast was AMAAAAZING with an AWESOME view!!!! The bell guys at the front of the hotel are a little pushy though -- but must all hotels they are, it seems. It saves extra money taking your own luggage to and from your hotel room, if you are packing […] light, just ask the check-in clerk where your room is located and take it yourself. Oh, and this hotel is HUGE and A LOT of walking to get to and from!!!! seriously! bring some comfy tennis shoes and flipflops!!!! This hotel also offers luaus and snorkeling and they have water slides that are super fun and paddle surfing and a couple huge adult pools and jacuzzies!...and this hotel is right on the beach/ocean, very convenient! and pretty sunsets!!!! A++++ and a 5 Star Hotel, hands down. You won't be disappointed at all. And you'll have AWESOME photos to share with family & friends, the scenery is absolutely beautiful everywhere inside this hotel!!!! We even got married there on the beach at this hotel!!! "Nice hotel, but I was expecting more from Marriott"
The hotel location and its look and feel are very nice. The beach is right there, pools, hot tubs, everything was amazing. Also, it seems to be one of the affordable hotels in the area. Staff in general is very friendly and is eager to help. One thing to note is that Ocean Front rooms are not ocean front, they either are too far from the ocean, or don't […] face it. My room was not facing the Ocean, and had only obstructed view of it, however it was called (and was charged as) "Ocean Front". If you want a real ocean front room, you need to get the "Ocean Front Deluxe". There's also a common thing to all Marriott hotels: internet is not free, and its price is far from being realistic. The only free internet in the hotel is next to the starbucks. If you don't have a car, entertainment options in a walkable distance are very limited. If you want to do snorkeling, they will pick you up at the hotel, but for everything else we were doing during our stay we needed a rental car. Rentals at the hotel are 70+ bucks a day (120 for convertable). Also they charge you $30 a days as a resort fee in addition to the price of the room (it is not included in the price when you reserve it over the internet). It might come up as an unpleasant surprise. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Perfect Hotel for our Honeymoon!"
The Wailea Beach Marriott was perfect. My wife and I just went there at the end of September for the first 5 days of our honeymoon. The resort had recently put in $50-60MM in renovations and while I didn't see the before, it definitely looked great after. We got bumped up to a partial ocean view room for free, which was within 100 steps of the beach […] and pool. Perhaps the best part for any couples, whether our age (25) or older is the infinity pool - it was relaxing, serviced by waitresses with good drinks and food, and best of all it was quiet as it was an adult only pool! I highly recommend the Wailea Beach Marriott for any families or couples looking for a perfect Hawaiian vacation. We also went to Honolulu and North Shore on Oahu, but my wife and I agree that the Wailea Beach Marriott is the first place we will go back to when we get back to Hawaii. "Great location"
Overall a great hotel. I was not that impressed with the resturants on site. The food by the pool was great but not a great option for lunch or dinner. There are some great places to eat within walking distance or a short drive. Monkey Pod was fantastic, A 5 minute drive. Typical BIG hotel and had a bit of a business feel to it.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Nice resort, lovely service"
We have stayed here twice and have been very happy with the hotel. The grounds are beautiful, love the Serenity pool, the service is always great. The rooms are a little sparse and our first two nights were in the very back of the resort facing the kids' pool / play area - I would not stay in that building again. Once we moved to an ocean view room, […] it was just wonderful. Easy walk to shops and other resorts for dining, etc. I would stay here again. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Great hotel and location"
We had a very enjoyable experience. This was our second year in a row having come to this hotel, after spending our honeymoon there last year. We love the location and appreciate that there are multiple pools which allow us to enjoy the infinity pool, while the families with children have multiple options at other pools. You have great views and quick […] access to the beach, although the sandy beaches are at the outer edges of the hotel property. The food at the hotel can be expensive, but there are plenty of options nearby for various types of food. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"great hotel for a family with young kids"
The hotel is dated, and has not direct access to their own beach (has two on each end of the property) but grounds and the pools are very nice. We took the kids, and the hotel is clearly built for families with kids. Food in the bar as Meh at best, poolside bar, but not bad for a mid-day snack. Breakfast selection left lots of be desired, but service […] and food were good. Did not dine there. Overall, a good place to take the kids where they will have the time of their life -- and when they are playing, you can relax and get some fun yourself. Would recommend for families with kids, not for couples or people looking for peace and quiet, final tip: don't even try the on-property luau. bad, bad, bad -- did i mention how bad it was? "Great hotel for relaxing"
The views from any angle from the hotel are incredible. The grounds are very well kept Having the infinity pool exclusive for 18 and older makes for a relaxing environment. Families with small children have their own pool environment, which looks great. Food at Ma'La restaurant is great, especially breakfast buffet, but priceyGenuine Expedia guest review
"Nice hotel needs new beds"
Very nice hotel with modern rooms. My only complaint (and its an Important one) was the bed. The bed was not firm and I woke up each morning with a stiff back.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Hotel charges for internet services."
They charge $30.00 per day hotel fees and it does not include access to internet in the room, they want to charge extra $14.00 per day for internet access per day if I want internet in my room and that is ridiculous and what they offered for $30.00 per day for services was worthless to me except the free parking.Genuine Expedia guest review

"nice but overpriced"
The marriott is in a great location walking distance from two nice beaches. The rooms are okay, the joys of 5 different pools is very nice. This was our third trip to hawaii and fourth different island and seventh new place to stay. I do think that there are places to stay that are just as nice and way cheaper. If money is no object in your vacation […] then I would recommend this place but if you are thrifty then you will definitely feel ripped off. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Not Fun"

"would go back to this hotel"
My husband and I stayed here from 5/4/12 - 5/11/12. We had a great time and would definately go back! the room: we had an ocen view room; view was perfect for the price; bed was soft and comfortable; tile floor was good for dealing with the sand when you got back from the beach; great deep bathtub; great water pressure in the shower; had a small refrigerator, […] but would have been nice to have a microwave location: perfect! we went to wailea beach which is basicaly to the right of the hotel; we got beach towels from our hotel and took the short walk to the beach and rented snorkel gear and chairs w/ umbrells for the day (total cost $60 per day); there is an outdooor mall called the shops of wailea by the hotel that we walked to that also had a couple of places to eat; we also bought snacks for the room there. hotel dining: this was a disappointment; went to the breakfast buffett and found it to be disgusting! the buffett is open to the outside and overlooks a great view of the ocean but the birds are relentless in trying to eat your food off your plate--there are several of them and they actually land on the table while you are trying to eat. We were have to try to wave them off of us while we ate...very gross. pools/ hot tub: the pools overlook the ocea and didn't seem very crowded, but we usually went to the beach. we did go to the hot tub at night which was nice. would have been good if the bar and grill there stayed open later to get drinks/snacks at night. "Pricey but memorable"
A beautiful setting, low-rise units, amazing infinity pool for adults only. Great for couples. Our room was 'ocean-facing' but had a lovely view towards Wailea beach. Staff were super-friendly except for one rather clueless waitress. We did feel a bit nickel and dime'd with the compulsory resort fee: that plus Wi-Fi will add about 50 bucks a night to […] your cost. Still, for a special occasion this is a top-notch hotel. "Disappointment in Paradise"
We have are Reward Members of the Marriott as timeshare owners, so we stay at this hotel when visiting Wailea, Maui. The first time we were given a room over the trash area, but since we were only to stay two nights, we didn't say anything. This time, after requesting two queen beds, and no trash dock view, we were told that we had been "upgraded" . […] That sounded good. Our room was an"accessible" room with a good view, but it had one king size bed, and a the shower necessary to accommodate a wheel chair. At 8:30 that night housekeeping tried to deliver a plastic shower bench. We are not physically challenged people, and the bathroom presented less than the luxurious experience we were expecting at a top of the line hotel. With much difficulty and 30 minutes of our time that night, and hours of waiting the next day, we were relocated to an acceptable room with the two beds and regular bathroom that we were expecting. We will be staying somewhere else the next time we visit Wailea. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
