"NOT REALLY GOOD HOTEL IN APIA"
IT WAS UNABLE TO SLEEP WELL BECAUSE OF A LOT OF NOISE FROM OUTSIDE, AN UNCOMFORTABLE BAD. THEY DON'T HAVE A GOOD EVENT FOR CUSTOMERS. THE WIFI USING FEE IS $7.00(US) FOR 1 HOUR BUT SLOW AND A BAD CONDITION. I GOT THE 5 NIGHT FOR THE SPECIAL PRICE AND I EXTENDED 1 MORE NIGHT, BUT THEY CHARGED ME REGULAR PRICE FOR EXTENDED NIGHT BECAUSE 1 NIGHT.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Just remodeled, place is in tip-top shape."
Only complaint is the expensive data limited internet, but other than that was very happy, Breakfast was good, we did not eat any other meals in the hotel. Location is very good, no need for a car, but the airport is way out of town, so might be cheaper to just rent a car.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"our stay @ tanoa tusitala"
It would have been better if breakfast was included in the price...other than that, we enjoyed our stay. Your hotel is beautiful and very clean.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Tanoa Tusitala experience"
Overall the hotel experience was good. We arrived at 2.00 am and the check in process was efficient and we were in our room very quickly. We were able to arrange a late check out on our last day without any fuss. Service at the restaurant and bar was good. The rooms were clean and serviced daily. Suggest you arrange transfers from and to the airport […] through the hotel. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"AMAZING!"
It was GREAT! Room was clean, everything worked properly. It was more than I expected, would recommend to everyone :)Genuine Expedia guest review
"Xmas holiday"
During our stay at Tanoa Hotel had problems with water issues due to Cyclone Evan. Compensating the guests to use the swimming pool with no clean water supplied!!!! Compensation for thier guest should be looked into to get a better rating!!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The service at this hotel was excellent & the staff were most helpfull. The experience we had with flights being cancelled & delayed would have been difficult for most hotels to deal with, but the staff made the experiences easier to cope with. Nothing was too much trouble.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Terrific Tanoa Tusitala"
A great hotel with a wonderful setting and very accommodating staff who were friendly and helpful. The hotel was really close to Apia CBD and all the wonderful restaurants. Their own restaurant was also very good and we enjoyed eating and staying there. Pool was great, happy hour brilliant and very good entertainment. Absolutely brilliant place.Genuine Expedia guest review
"One my favourite hotels in Samoa"
The rooms are really nice and the staff on the whole were ok, but despite expedia and our calling ahead; when we arrived at 6am we were told we could not check in till 2pm. The arrangement by expedia and ourselves was that we would pay extra for the early check in because of our flight. That was annoying, as was the reception staff who said nothing […] when we informed them or our arrangement and instead walked into the office for some 5 minutes leaving us to wonder what next? It was finally resolved. The pool side staff was shocking, they would huddle by the till and talk or play with their mobile phones. You had to approach the bar and interrupt them to get service. This happened several times and it made the experience very unwelcoming. We visit Samoa nearly every year and we are delighted that there are now so many other hotels which we will most defintely try on our next trip. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"MY Stay at Tonoa Tusitala Samaoa"
Loved the size of the room, had to chase staff constantly for little things like coffe, sugar, toilet paper. The room was serviced and very clean but the little things as mentioned were always missed. I was disappointed at the cost of the meals and the quality of breakfast. Twice i purchased a full breakfast at $45.00 the first i returned as the bacon […] tomatoes and the hot food was stone cold. On the other occasion there was an inch of fat in the bacon warmer yuck to see. I never got offered a replacement breakfast. This could have been solved so simply. I feel that the cooking staff let the hotel down. The over all cost of food was very high. The manager was busy checking on most things but didnt get a chance to check the quality of food. Hotel transfers $25.00 pp a taxi was $40.00. I did get a tour organised through the Hotel it was disappointing. We were told lunch would be provided and it was except we went to a restraunt and got to choose from their limited menu and it took over an hour to be provided with not so good food. The tour guide stopped pointing out land marks etc after about 30 minutes and just sat in the bus silent, not impressed with that. The positives: The complex is modern and inviting, the staff are friendly, pool is great, management are accessible. Rooms were kept really clean and tidy. Lots of things happening but not advertised to well. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Close, but no cigar."
Stayed for two nights, at the start and finish of a week long diving holiday on Savai'i. The hotel is impeccable, in its public areas, rooms and grounds. Service was friendly, perhaps a little under- trained. Not unusual in Samoa. We arrived well before checkin time, and thanks to the airline schedules this will be an almost universal experience for […] visitors to Apia. Even though there were plenty of available rooms, a Tala 100.00 surcharge was quoted for an early check in...we just dropped our bags, and came back after lunch to check in after 1pm. The bar fridges in all the rooms are deliberately kept completely empty except for tiny sachets of milk for making coffee. No bottled water! Reception explained that " they charge for everything"... As if this was a logical reason to keep the bar fridge empty! Details like this are the only thing standing between this hotel and a really five star rating. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Convenient position and relaxing setting"
We were delighted with our stay at Tanoa. The atmosphere and all services related to reception and restaurant were faultless. Congratulations to staff in these areas. The lack of lighting in the room we found a problem and no bedside lights for reading inconvenient. Overall a memorable holiday.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"WONDERFUL!"
My partner and I stayed here for 3 nights in Jul12 and we absolutely loved it! The room we stayed in was above and beyond my expectations and is exactly as described and pictured on their website! The hotel is in a perfect location in town, just a 5 minute walk from the markets. I cannot fault the hotel on anything but I would suggest that maybe a few […] more activities in the hotel itself would be quite good! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Disappointed campers"
Our experience was disappointing overall. The Hotel itself is nicely developed and has perfectly adequate facilities. The room was modern and had all the features you needed.. It was largely the service, that just took the enjoyment off everything. We were never sure whether our conversations had been heard, or understood because the staff (restaurant […] in particular)would often walk off without acknowledgement. Few made any effort to engage as if they "wanted" to look after your needs. Several hiccups with supply of room towels, supply of batteries to get the Security safe back into service, mis-interpretation of food orders. The proximity of the Hotel to downtown Apia is ideal as long as you dont mind the neighbouring nightclub intrusion. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Pleasant Stay"
Generally a very pleasant stay. We visited here 20 years ago (Kitano Tusitala) and we miss the large dining Fale that was apparently burnt down over time. And the new Government multi-story building looms over the hotel now. However, the pool was good, the food OK and the service OK to pleasing (some very good staff, some OK). Really close to town which […] is a bonus. Always pleasant to return to after being out on the town. It just needs some money spent in some areas to bring it up to a great hotel. "Poor Service"
The hotel was badly let down by the poor service of the staff who seemed to feel that, because we were young, we were less important than other guests and could be fobbed off with 2nd rate service. Everything we aksed for was too much trouble. Even when I asked for a "Comments" card at the end of our stay I was told, "we can't find them." Be warned […] if you are under 25. "Tanoa Tusitala Hotel Review"
One of the nicest hotels in Samoa by far. Great transfer service to and from the Airport, the lady driver gave us a great running commentary the 45min journey to the hotel, we learnt a lot. Hotel was great - pool was lovely and clean, lived in this as was very hot 30-32oC. The only let-down was the unavailbility of the Restaurant as the Scottish Rugby […] Team were staying in this same Hotel and because of that we weren't allowed dinner in the Restaurant which we thought was a bit on the nose as surely we were paying the same if not more for our rooms. Would recommend to anyone wanting to stay in lovely accommodation. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Talofa Tanoa"
Having previously stayed at the Tanoa Tusitala I didn't hesitate to stay there again. The location is perfect and the hotle itself in clean, modern and refreshing. The staff are very helpful and friendly as well as accommodating. My only disappointment would be the lack of variety of food they offer as well as the buffet breakfast not offering alot […] of options. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking at visiting Samoa. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"A Pleasing experience"
A very pleasant hotel with friendly staff. We had to wait for the afternoon to get clean towels each morning however, overall an enjoyable experience.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Good for a base, but it is not a resort."
A good hotel to use as a base for hiring a car (not throught the hotel, use the agancies such as Budget in the town) and for staying in Apia. But it is not a resort hotel and not particularly Samoan. It is not close to a beach and the pool is small. Good for a maximum 4 nights. We were booked for 8 nights, but checked-out after 4 nights and went to […] Aggie Grey's Resort. Tanoa Tusitala should consider upgrading to a resort, with a much larger pool and resort facilities. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Tanoa in Apia"
The location of this hotel was good as it was in central apia and was in a good distance to walk across the road to the harbour wall and down the road to buildings such as the old parliament house, the court house and a few memorials at the point. In the opposite direction was the flea market and the township. I went with my partner who was a surfer […] and if you are looking for waves do not stay at this hotel. It is not on a beach and is a fair way from a beach which made it a pretty expensive trip to go and see the south side where the nice beaches are. The food and drinks are very expensive at this hotel and when eating at the restaurant, cats are usually interfering with your dining experience at your table. The staff are friendly but are sometimes annoying and dont leave you alone. The hotel description on here said it had 2 restaurants and it only had 1, and it said it had a tennis court and it didn't. We also got charged for breaking our room bin when we didn't, and it took a while to tell realise it was there own staff that did it. All together, if i were to go again i would definetly stay on the south side where all the good waterfalls, caves, beaches and sights are. Apia doesn't have much besides a dirty harbour filled with rubbish. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
""Flowers, smiles and a wonderful time, Samoa time.""
If you were to break up the Tanoa Tusitala Hotel into the individual elements that make up a Hotel stay, and examine them separately, you may get slightly lower rating than evaluating the overall experience. The Hotel grounds (garden of Eden!) were delightful and superbly maintained, The room was spacious, spotless and comfortable. The pool area was […] inviting and pleasant. The round the clock menu was reasonable, and delicious. Location was a very comfortable walk into downtown Apia, which we enjoyed daily. The staff were FANTASTIC!! Make the personal adjustment to Samoa Time and the Samoa Way as quickly as you can (slow down, you are on holiday!) and the smiles and polite chats from the staff will guarantee a wonderful stay here, my wife and I loved it. "Cant wait to go back.......love Samoa...."
Its about 6pm when the one of the guys from the reception telling the other couple that there room was ready...i was so mad when i heard that since i have been waiting since 2pm. I stormed to the reception demanding my cash payment since i had enough of waiting. It didnt even took them 5 minutes to guide me to my room .My holiday coinsided with Jazz […] and Blues Festival and Tanoa was the host hotel which might have caused all this caious .The hotel is with in walking distance to town....5 min walk into supermarket/kraft market and fruit market. The bar /resturant staffs are so friendly and nice, work too hard for everyones satisfaction.....might have to sometimes wait little longer for food and drinks to arrive but assume its the island style...have to have patient. The hotel is very clean and the yummy resturant food..must try breadfruit fries. The locals are friendly and cheap to travel by taxi with the town. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"AAA for staff effort, but..."
. Handy to market/ Town Centre. Building work still going on but never an issue. Deluxe King Bed actually two singles pushed together, mattresses past best and beneath standards expected from this Chain. Room ok, clean. Poor lighting/ water pressure. Fast check in. Place went from deserted to overflowing with start of Jazz/ Blues festival on site. […] Staff did an outstanding job of trying to cope but management need a serious rap in catering for this event if night one was anything to go by. The bar was chaos most of the evening. Couldn't get a handle on breakfast prices. Cheaper to have cooked breakfast than fruit/ toast....? In Samoa...? Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
