I read a lot of reviews about this hotel before I decided to stay here. The majority of them were good reviews however there are some bad ones. The bad ones bother me. Complaining about the TV being an "older" TV is silly in my opinion because you are a 40 minute bus/train ride from doing one of the million things in Manhattan. This hotel was very clean. […] My room had no issues with being dirty i felt that it was clean. The service was good for the most part, the people behind the desk were very helpful and answered any and all questions we had. The hotel's location is very good. The Q48 bus picks people up and drops them off at a 7 train stop by Citi Field. Was very nervous about using mass transit however once I did it once I found it was very easy to use. This is one of the more affordable hotels in the area, so I wasn't expecting a 5 start TV and a 5 star room. I got what I paid for and I was extremely satisfied. "Great Stay"
Had a great stay at the LaGuardia Plaza for 3 nights in March. We chose this hotel because the Manhattan hotels were almost three times the price. The rooms here are large, very clean and well-appointed. The staff was very friendly and went the extra mile on both check-in and check-out. We had the $11 breakfast buffet one day. They have scrambled eggs, […] french toast, bacon, sausage, and the usual continental items. Service was very good, food OK. The bar is nice, but a little pricey. We found the hotel very quiet; although you could see the airport from our room, we never heard loud plane noises. Noise from other rooms was about normal. Parking is plentiful and reasonably priced. It takes about 50 minutes to get to Times Square via the Q23 bus and the 7 train. You can buy a $5 MetroCard in the hotel gift shop, then put more funds on it at the subway station. The hotel shuttle was running every 20 minutes to the subway also, but we didn't use it. In summary, if you want a room that's much larger and cheaper than you typically get in Manhattan, in a nice, full-service hotel, but about an hour from the action downtown, this is a good choice. "Close to wedding venue that we were attending."
This is the 2nd time we have stayed at this hotel. Both times we were attending weddings in the Brooklyn area. The price was good, the hotel is very clean and comfortable, and even though it is close to the airport, we only heard planes a few times and that was when we were outside. "Convenience and great price"
We stayed at this hotel the last night of our trip to NY City. The rates were so much better than Manhattan rates. The hotel was very comfortable and had a shuttle to the airport. I have to respectfully disagree with some of the reviewers before me. My friend and I stayed here over the weekend and were so pleasantly surprised! I guess we expected less because of some of the other reviews. We were in a Superior Double on the 7th floor. The carpeting in the hallways was in great condition, the room was extremely large with two […] double beds and a round table in the corner with a lamp. The room was very clean, bed comfortable w/ great pillows!) They have a delicious breakfast. We chose to order off the menu & had delicious omelets, oatmeal, bagels-everything was wonderful. We were served quickly and everyone was very nice. The staff at the front desk were always smiling, & when I needed a car service, they called one which arrived in minutes.Truly, not one person was not nice. The lobby is huge & has a bar, a restaurant, & a gift shop.They have an internet room, although there is free wifi everywhere. The rooms look EXACTLY like they do on the website. The bathroom is large with a marble counter with loads of counter space. So, either I was just lucky (I think not), or some of the other reviews were from people who thought they were staying at the Plaza hotel in Manhattan! They have a shuttle bus to pick you up at the airport and they will even take you to the nearest subway station. What more could anyone ask of a hotel?
