A little more updating to the rooms, example: a mirror in the room itself,not just in the dressing area. There was no vent in inside bathroom or grab-bar in bathtub. "No Sleep"
Let me preface this review by stating that I am not very picky when it comes to hotels. I have stayed in Ritz-Carltons and Super 8s, but I find that as long as a hotel meets my basic needs I will be happy with it. The most important factor (to me) in choosing a hotel is the hotel's ability to enable a person to have quality sleep. There are many factors […] that go into this (comfortability of the bed, room temperature, noise, etc.), but if any of these factors are outside of their normal ranges, a person's stay at a hotel can be affected. This hotel had a comfortable bed and good temperature control, but the noise level was absolutely ridiculous. The walls are paper thin, so I was awakened throughout each night I stayed there by doors opening and shutting, crying babies, people talking, etc. I am normally a fairly deep sleeper, but the walls of my room were so thin that the person in the room next to me woke me up with their snoring. I will NEVER stay here again. I got very little sleep, and since the reason I book a hotel is to sleep, I received little to no value for my money. I expected more from Marriott. "This Courtyard NEVER disappoints!"
We have stayed here several times and its always the same quality service. The front desk night auditor was awesome sauce! She was friendly, well spoken and courteous! Very satisfied overall with my hotel stay. "Great hotel, horrible noise!"
My family has stayed at this hotel in the past, about two years ago, and they stay was wonderful. We were in DFW this past weekend for a little getaway and decided to book this hotel again, and man, this time was way different! The beds are stellar, but I could not enjoy them because the hotel cleaning ladies were up at the crack of dawn, talking in […] the hallway near our room. Also, we were booked in a room near the door exiting the building, and people were coming in and out all night the first night. I don't think I had more than a solid hour or so of sleep that night. The room was very clean and I love that they have Paul Mitchell shampoo and conditioner. The guy working the front desk was very helpful and friendly, and the hotel is in great shape both structurally and regarding cleanliness. The location doesn't get any better-- it's right in the middle of a ton of great restaurants and just down the road from the Galleria and other shopping places. I enjoyed they stay however if you book a "smoking" room there are no Smoking rooms this is a smoke free facility. I researched a lot of hotels to find the best one for my family to stay. I reserved this hotel for the excellent ratings and location. First, I think it is crazy to have to pay for the breakfest. Every hotel that I have ever stayed in had a comp. breakfest no matter the price or package we paid for. Second, what kind of hotel is not going to have an […] elevator for a two or more story building????? It was hell to lug all of our stuff and my child up two sets of stairs. I guess since we did not pay an arm and a leg for our room, we were put in a room by the linnen closet which was a early morning hang out for the cleaning laddies to chat, laugh and to have a good time while we were trying to sleep. There were teenage kids running through the hall at 2:30am and we could hear the people next to us haveing a little too much fun for childrens ears.
