We got a last minute rate on this beautiful 2 bedroom/2 bath condo with a beautiful oceanview. It was gorgeus. The hotel amneities were good and full access to the beach. Very clean and spacious. The only negative thing I could say is that the bleach/chlorine smell from the indoor pool was a bit overwhelming.

It was very to have a Kitchenette sweet on the water. The pool was very nice and there was many places to lounge on the deck. If you are visiting for festivities in daytona have a car or motorcycle. We stayed here while I wad attending a race, but as my wife wasn't joining me, I wanted to get a place with amenities for her. What a waste of money. Check-in was annoying and time consuming, as they try to get you to attend a timeshare just giving you your key. The room was recently renovated, but was very noisy from the traffic on A1A. Excellent condo for the money. Please do restructure the bathrooms for two adults' use. Put in more storage shelves, etc. Too much empty space in the condo which could be used in the bathroom! Loved it overall. Stayed last year too!

The check-in experience was easy. We were directed to a seperate desk for a parking pass and coupons, along with a timeshare demonstration invitation. We were upgraded to a very nice room without asking and it was "perfect" for our family of four. We stayed in the South Tower, which is newer, and nicer. There are two things that would have made our […] stay better. One, there is no easy way to get to the pool from the South Tower to the North Tower. (it would have been really nice to have a "walkway/wooden bridge that connected the them) Two, the gate from the pool to the beach had major issues all weekend not working for people. It actually became a "people watching sport" seeing when it would work and how many times people had to enter the code. Also, everyone should know that there is a Volusia County rule that "All Outdoor swimming pools and hot tubs" close at dark. This is to protect the Sea Turtle, but just five miles down the road in Daytona, the pier area is lit up like Vegas. You are still allowed to use the "indoor pool & hot tub"....but they are very small. All in all a great place and would return again. Read more

Our family had a great time. The only thing that was an issue is that the pool and all outdoor activities at this place closed at dark due to the Sea Turtle nests. So no evening swims, shuffleboard, putt putt etc. They actually lock the access to the beach so you can't even go for a walk on the beach after dark. The biggest problem with this place was its only a time share. They do not care anything but filling rooms and selling time shares. It's not a hotel at all and it's not a condo. They rent out one little side of the whole condo. It's basically a hotel room without the hotel service.

I was very impressed with how well the resort was taken care of. Every morning the pool was cleaned. The lobby was constantly being cleaned. Staff was friendly and helpful, Plenty of activities to keep the kids busy. On a more negative note, the cars on the beach were totally annoying and dangerous. Cars are allowed to park right in front of the resort […] on the beach. On the weekends the cars come pouring in. They have no consideration for the people on the beach. So, imagine all these cars parked close together in front of the resort. The enterance to the beach is located in front of where all the cars are parked. So, in order to get to the beach you have to walk through the parked cars.So many times I witnessed kids running from the pool deck ,to the beach through the parked cars on to the beach...........not stopping to look for cars. Its like crossing a busy street. The week days aren't as busy, but you still have to worry about cars. The elevators are painfully slow. Guests reserve lounge chairs and umbrella tables for their entire family, by 8:00am all the tables are reserved and half the lounge chairs, despite the signs posted stating this is prohibited (many people who lacking common courtesy). The expedia reservation was not on file. It took us 45 minutes to check in. The staff was friendly but incompetent. We had to ask repeatedly for coffee and towels. The room was nice but we were not treated with the same service one would expect from a hotel.

I would not receommend this hotel. We made reservations there many months ago, to be SURE we had a place with internet connection (we had to work while on vacation). When we arrived, we discovered that the hotel had in fact no working internet connection and the staff gave us varying and conflicting excuses as to why (a broken cable, waiting approval […] for increased bandwidth from the city, etc.) After trying repeatedly to get online at the royal floridian, we found another hotel down the street for the same rate WITH internet as promised. We left immediately (to their credit, the royal floridian did not charge us for the hour we were there). When we checked out, we talked with other guests and not a single one had internet, as promised and advertised by the hotel. Oh and--when we first walked into our room, I went over to the door onto the balcony and opend up the lovers. The top louver fell off and clunked me on the head--no injury but a bump, but the thing weighed a few pounds. Location of this hotel is great, all rooms face the ocean and have a balcony which is nice. Never had a problem with noise, parking, or having to drive somewhere to eat. Drawbacks - Poor water pressure in shower, room was much smaller than any pictures I saw on a website, very small bathroom vanity.

We did not feel the room was really clean - even with tile flooring it seemed not to have been washed. We found a hair in the tub - maybe it was on the back of the mat. And while most of the staff we met in and around the hotel were very nice the front desk personnel on the day we left was somewhat snippy.

We stayed for a couple of days. Had a room on 7th(top) floor. Great view, which by far was the best thing about this place. Room was pretty outdated. Bathroom was to small. Had one package of coffee when we got to room. Asked for another package the next morning and was told to go across the street to CVS to get it. Price was reasonable for room.

Beuatiful Resort; stayed in new South unit on corner. The wind was very strong and the staff let us move to a quieter unit for the night. We greatly appreciated this as we could not sleep with the noise. Loved having the pool next to the ocean.

We came to the Royal Floridan for a birthday getaway weekend. We stayed in the Deluxe one bedroom condo ocean front. The condo was large and ocean view was outstanding. Plenty of activites available for adults and children.

I rented 3 rooms for a family reunion and at first was disappointed they were not together, it actually worked out well that way. One of the 2 bedroom units ended up being ocean front on the first floor. It was truly perfect with that being the groups 'party' room with enough overflow room for the total of 21 of us. Upon check in to this hotel we arrived in our room to find that it was a beautiful ocean front room with one bedroom which would have been great but we had booked a two bedroom for two couples and two children, upon bringing this to the front desks attention we were informed that there had been a mistake with our booking but they would be glad to bring […] us roll away cots for the night and would get us into a two bedroom sometime the next day, then after about an hour we received a call from management and was informed that roll away cots would be too much trouble so they would give us another one bedroom for the night - which was located in another building and smelled horrible upon entering. The next day were given the original room that we had booked around about 2:00 and was asked to vacate the room we were using as soon as possible as there were people waiting for it.. . .hello vacation?? who wants to spend time moving rooms? Several promises of compensation for our troubles were offered the remainder of the week from several of the employees at this fine hotel but 3 days after checking out will still yet have to see any compensation for our trouble! My room was small but clean. A/C was perfect and kept the room super cold and the bed was comfy. The floors are all tile, so noise from the adjacent room echo into the room as if its one big room which was noisy during the day time. So the best thing was to switch the fan from auto to on. Its a bit noisy but kind of like white noise. Parking is free […] but the parking spaces are small and difficult to navigate. The hotel has 6 or 7 stories and only 2 slow, un-airconditioned elevators. Overall its not a bad place. Its safe and clean but cant say that I'd stay again. Its a time share not a hotel. Depite spraying and uzing ozone machines, it was terrible!!The staff admitted it too, but did not offier to move us to another room until the night before we were leaving. Stayed in a two bedroom suites at the Royal Floridian South. The suite was very comfortable, clean, had a fully furnished kitchen, and had a balcony with a great view of the beach.
