Location. The Lodge and Spa at Breckenridge is located in the mountains of Breckenridge, Colo. The lodge is located one half-mile from the Stephen C. West Ice Rink and two miles from downtown Breckenridge. The Breckenridge Golf Club is five miles away.
Hotel Features. This four-story lodge is designed with classic mountain decor. The lobby features peeled-log beams, a fieldstone fireplace and a wraparound balcony. The new Meridian Spa offers a variety of massage types, and outdoor spa tubs provide Rocky Mountain views. The lodge offers seasonal shuttle services to ski slopes and downtown Breckenridge. Complimentary wireless Internet access is available in the lobby. Breakfast options vary based on season and may include a breakfast with hot items available for a fee. Pets are allowed for a fee.
Guestrooms. The hotel's mountain decor extends into guestrooms, which are appointed with log beams and natural wooden furnishings. Windows open with louvers with mountain or forest views. Neutral down duvets feature button closure details. Bathrooms contain complimentary toiletries. Select rooms include fireplaces, balconies or kitchenettes. Room amenities include a 32-inch flat-panel television. Connecting/adjoining rooms, rollaway beds, and cribs are available.

Summit County, where Breckenridge is located, offers numerous recreational activities. Besides skiing and snowboarding, winter sports include ballooning, sleigh rides, and snow tubing. Summer sports include hiking, biking, gold panning, ballooning, rafting, and mine tours.

Keystone Resort is seven miles from Breckenridge and linked by a complimentary shuttle service and interchangeable lift tickets. The resort, which has a 12,408-ft summit and gets 230 inches of snow annually, offers 2,870 acres with 116 trails: 19 percent beginner, 39 percent more difficult, and 49 percent most difficult. These are accessible by 19 lifts, including two gondolas. Keystone is popular because it stays open late. At the height of the season, 15 trails and a lighted terrain park are open at night.
Activities at the Dillon Dam Recreation Area, 10 miles north of Breckenridge, include boating, sailing, camping, canoeing, fishing, and Nordic skiing. Both the Breckenridge and Silverthorne recreation centers include indoor pools, basketball courts, skateboard parks, indoor climbing, tennis courts, and fitness programs.

"A little shabby"
I booked a weekend stay for my boyfriend and I to celebrate his birthday. It is mud season so we weren't planning to snowboard or anything so we were at the hotel a little more than we typically would have been. Because the building is older, it creaks a lot and the walls are very thin. Between the room next to us with several kids and at least one […] dog jumping around at 11PM and the room above us simply walking, it was hard to fall asleep, let alone sleep in. Our room (109) was also located across from the laundry/maintenance room which we could hear the laundry continuously running and the maids often stopping in outside our door to chat and laugh loudly at early hours (6:30ish). The rooms are a bit dated and smell musty trying to be disguised by air freshiner. I definitely did not get a "spa" feeling. The pictures on the website do not honestly portray this hotel. All this being said-our overall stay was enjoyable simply because of the location. I also understand that the hotel staff has no control over the noise their guests make AND I realize laundry needs to be done(which I'm glad for LOL) unfortunately, I think there are better hotel options and I would not return to the Lodge and Spa. This lodge just doesn't seem to be worth the price that we were charged, even at the discounted price. It's not too far off base if the owners would just pay a little more attention to detail. It really did have a rustic feel, but not much better than rustic cabins or a cheaper motel. The hallway floors weren't all that clean, there were cobwebs on […] the lights in the hallway. It just didn't feel like the vision a "Lodge and Spa" invokes. The staff at the front desk was friendly, the room was comfortable and clean except for some details in the bathroom. There was mildew on the walls and the shower curtain had shampoo or something up at the top and a large yellow stain on the bottom, it just needed to be replaced. The towel I used was rough and had two sizeable holes in it and was totally frayed with long strings all along the edge. There was a large area on the wall that had really peeling paint and the wicker storage shelf next to the sink was peeling. Not that big of a deal, but little attentions to detail that are simple fixes would go a LONG way. On the plus side, the bed was comfortable, breakfast was continental with waffles, and the view was beautiful. Not close to skiing or shopping but there was a free shuttle (we didn't use it). Just as many of the other reviews state, this hotel is slightly dated and it does need some updates, but the staff and the views more than make up for that. From the moment we checked in the service was just outstanding. The shuttle was quick and incredibly convenient to get to town - we never waited more than 10 minutes either in town or at the hotel, […] which was very nice because parking can be difficult in town. They made fantastic suggestions for food and were more than accommodating for a last minute massage request for my husband and I. Spa staff were fantastic. This was the 2nd time my husband and I have stayed at The Lodge and Spa, and we just love it. It has a charming log cabin feeling, beautiful views, and the free shuttle service into town is a real bonus. We love coming back and sitting in the hottub after a long day snowboarding! "Just okay"
The hotel was nice enough; however, it could definitely have been cleaner and better furnished. For instance, in our room, there were spots on the walls near the bathroom sink. Also, the bed was not particularly comfortable--not horrible, but not particularly great either--and there was only one chair in our room. As someone who is not an animal-lover, […] the biggest turnoff was the number of dogs in the hotel; there was one that stayed near the front counter. The number of rules we had to sign off on when checking in was reminiscent of a cheap hotel, including agreement to pay extra money if they 'found evidence of smoking' (not "proof," but merely "evidence") or if we lost a key (yeah... "keys"; they don't have cards). The location was a bit far from downtown and skiing, but the view both at the hotel and on the road to the hotel was great. "Romantic Getaway with Amazing Mountain Views"
This is a very nice hotel; I loved that it was tucked away in the mountains; with amazing views. The shuttle service was excellent and we never had to wait for more than 10 minutes when we called. Our stay was a negative do to the fact that the people above us were terribly noisy until 2 a.m. and we were next to the ice machine which is extremely noisy.
