It was pleasant enough. There was a restaurant and bar, so we were able to check in early and have a cocktail then go back to the room and relax, and go back out later for dinner. We stayed for an early morning flight out of Oakland. "Nice hotel only to stay for a day."
Not bad but not that great.I stayed with my wife and kids, bed was short and small. We were put in a small down stairs room first then they made it better by offering us a bigger room with a balconey. Spend the extra couple bucks and stay at the Holiday Inn or Hilton. This is a very bad neighborhood. No place feels safe especially at night. I am a grown man and it felt sketchy in the area. This hotel probably used to be good but overall a disappointing experience. I was put in the "West Plaza", which are the building behind high rise part of the hotel. I was in the "West" annex building which is about 50 yards behind the main hotel building. There was not an ice machine in that building, you had to go out, & across the parking lot to the "East" annex to the closest one. The room was clean but small and cramped for the price. i expect more of a Red Lion. The room was very tasteful and newly redone, but the lobby and restaurant are pretty dismal. The restaurant food is good but atmosphere is 1970. The business center has one computer and printer and absolutely no air, so spending more than five minutes is a problem. "NEVER Again"
We stayed at this hotel last year and were satisfied so when this hotel was selected on the blind booking I was happy with the selection. However upon arrival my opinion of the hotel quickly changed. For starters the front desk staff was extremely rude, then once we got into our room in the West Wing detached from the main hotel we quickly noticed […] that the room was in desperate need of repairs. Three of the four lights in the room did not work, the bathroom countertop was falling off the wall and the bedspread had obviously been burned while in the dryer/ironing and had numerous holes in it. The hotel also charges for shuttle drop off to the Bart Station ($5.00 each way/per person) and the shuttle driver did not speak to us when we got in or out of the van. This hotel needs to have a lot of work done to be considered a 3-4 star hotel in comparison with the other hotels in the same vicinity. We will definitely NOT ever be staying here again!!
