"Don't count on the free breakfast"
This is an OK hotel. It is at a reasonable distance from Cedar Point. I would suggest to stay most of your time at Cedar Point instead of this hotel. The room was clean, but the beds were uncomfortable and the pillows were pretty bad. Also, don't count on the free breakfast. "OK at need, if not your first choice."
My stay was the first as a guest, but having worked nearby for over two and a half years, I've seen much that most visitors would be unaware of. The hotel is run seasonally, and remains shuttered until Cedar Point's season is underway, and closes near Labor Day. It shares a common owner with several other hotels, and rates as the low-cost overflow option […] among those. The hotel is sanitary, technically clean, but does have a worn look and feel. Some rooms may have been closed for an entire season before you open the door, which is partially why you may see cobwebs in light fixtures or "musty hotel" smell as I did. What you are trading here is price for "new" and "shine." The folks staying here seemed to be the crowd that either couldn't book anyplace else, or were working on a budget tight enough to require it. It is located very near ample shopping and eating choices, and right off of Route 2. Cedar Point is a short drive from it, although rush-hour traffic can delay you considerably. We stayed here for our trip to Cedar Point. If you want an ok motel at half the price of motels closer to Cedar Point, stay here. The location to Cedar Point was good, only 5 miles away. We arrived at 7:30pm to find that we had to wait 30 minutes so they could clean a room for us. They have young girls cleaning the rooms that need training....found […] a big spider in the bathtub and cigarette butts on the floor near the bed. When we arrived back from CP the first night our keycards had been deactivated and we had to go to the office to get them reactivated. The wait to check out was long, as their computers went down. The continental breakfast was nothing to write home about. The linens felt like sandpaper. My girlfriend and I decided to take a trip to Cedar Point but I didn't have quite enough money for the best hotel so we stayed at the Travelodge. Overall it was a cheap place to stay the night and did not risk our saftey or our health. No drug dealers, prostitutes, etc in area. No bed bugs. The toilet clogged up and the bed was uncomfortable. We were very happy with the location for our trip. The pool was not open and had to go to the one across the very busy street.
