"Paid for room with deck. Hotel refused to honor."
I reserved a villa. The 1st line of the room description said "This room opens to a deck". The clerk put us in a standard room - with no cell service and a shower that ran out of hot water in 5 minutes. When I asked to be moved to the room I reserved, the clerk refused. "ROOMS TAT REALLY NEED UPDATED"
I was expecting a great 4-star room for 3 nights--ended with 1 star room that was absoulutly terrible!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! "Customer needs are NOT a priority"
We reserved a non-smoking room with 2 queen beds. Upon arrival at 1:30 PM we were told we could not check in prior to 4 PM. We were told that we could go ahead to the attraction which was the purpose for our visit and that our room would be waiting for us after the park closed. When we returned that night, we were told that no more non-smoking queen […] rooms were available. We would have to 1.) take a smoking room (I am HIGHLY allergic to smoke) 2. take a non-smoking room with double beds (we had teenagers that would have been very uncomfortable or 3) they could call a sister hotel. The sister hotel did not have any non-smoking rooms available either. We were told that if we didn't take one of their rooms we would still be charged because we didn't cancel 48 hours in advance. The property is nice BUT we felt like we were stuck. We took the room but my health has been compromised, having a hard time breathing since then. In addition, check-out time is 10AM. Why does it take 6 hours between check out and check in? Also, they charge for use of their WI-FI! Even low end motels have free WI-FI. I would NOT recommend Westgate Branson Woods because they refused to find a compromising solution. They told us there would be no problem with us checking in at a later time, then did not provide us with what we had reserved. In that case, they should have allowed us the option to cancel the reservation without penalty since they were the ones that did not honor the reservation as requested. "NOT RECOMMENDED for families on limited funds"
When we arrived at the Hotel it was very pleasing to the eye. when we checked in I was told by the front desk person that they were holding an extra $50 in addition to my cost for incidentals. I was very upset because i was not told about this hold and our family did not come with a lot of extra money. Also all of the hotels that I have stayed in previously […] offered FREE WI FI .. and to my disappointment this hotel charges you $10 for a 24 hour period just to use their wifi. That is rediculous. Also most hotels offer a FREE continental breakfast, However this hotel charges you $5 per person for breakfast. I think that should have been included considering how much you are paying for the room. We also were unable to have use of the indoor pool which was very disappointing because that was one of the reason we picked this hotel. The housekeeping staff was very pleasant however after they handed us our new towels for the day .. we went to use a few of them and they were soiled,. yuck.. no one wants to use stained towels. Response by Westgate Branson Woods Resort and Cabins It is common to have a hold for incidentals for various reasons, we allow a credit card or debit card for 50 or a check or cash for 200. Westgate as a company provides wifi for guests at a daily or weekly rate to cover the charge that it costs us to provide the service. We do not have a continental breakfast but we do offer a hot buffet breakfast provided by a local catering company which is why there is a 5 dollar a person charge. The pool was down for a week or so getting some repainting done, there should have been a note on our website stating such but it may not have been posted by the time your reservation was made. We apologize for that inconvenience. We will get with Housekeeping on providing clean and unstained linen to all of our guests.

"Great resort, but poor accommodations"
This a very nice gated resort where they have amazing customer service, but once you get to the room it is maybe as good as a motel 6. Old rooms with very dated look and not very comfortable. The resort does have an indoor pool, but the one day we got ready and took the kids to go swimming it was closed for maintenance in the middle of the afternoon. "Did not have what we booked"
When we got to the lodge to check in they did not have e room we booked available. The entire check in procedure took 30 minutes total. It was late and we were only staying 1 night but they wanted to continue and try to up-sale us. "Not a place that I would stay at again."
My guess is that this could be a very nice place to stay but I had a bad experience. I reserved a king non-smoking with a balcony but when I arrived they did not have any and offered to give me a double queen or a king smoking so I took the King. I was in building 5 next to the dumpster and the room next to me was used to store mattresses. There was […] about a 2' free area around the bed, it was a very small room.The heater put out hot air no matter what temp you set it at and the bathroom light was connected to a fan that was so loud that you wouldn't have been able to watch TV if it was running. There was WiFi but you had to pay for it and I wasn't in the mood to give them any more money. I was going to go back and complain but it was my wife's birthday trip and she asked me to just forget it, so I did. I have to say that I have stayed in better motel 6's. The high rise looked very nice, but that is not where I got to stay. I guess if you make reservations, just make sure you know what you are going to get before you put your money down. "Not the experience we are looking for"
I thought we would try something different for this trip to Branson, and different is what we got. I won't say we were completely "disappointed" because we didn't spend that much time in the room, but I doubt we will stay here again. The hotel itself is located right by the Sheperd of the Hills and the Blue route - great location for Branson visitors. Rooms are small, not very clean, but OK for a night or two. "Maybe it was nice 20 years ago."
The grounds are kept very nice, which makes it all the more disappointing when you see your room. I was okay with the retro tv/vcr combo and early 90's decor in our 1 bedroom villa. But the place was filthy. The linens were dirty and blankets stained. We sent for more and ended up with worse. The carpets weren't vacuumed. For the price - thought it would be a nicer room - Cannot say much for the TV in the room - Need to upgrade - sits so low that you can't see it while lying in bed. "Won't be Staying here again."
Over all it was just OK. Nothing to write home about.It says trails, and waterfalls. Make that singular one waterfall in the outdoor pool. No trails. We went all over and no trails.They make it sound better than it really is. When we made reservations we were told that they had handicapped bathrooms with wheel in showers. When we arrived it was just […] a bathtub with railings. We called and they did bring down a shower chair, so it was OK then. They were helpful I will give them that. What set us off was the next day when we came back from one of the shows we found several sets of earrings in one of our beds.It was if they never changed the sheets.There were no new fresh towels, beds were not made, nothing was done. When we called they said they only do the rooms every four days. It was never explained to us. The coffee maker did not work neither. You had to take care of your own garbage. The room wasn't very accessible my wheelchair barley fit. The breakfast costs and was a was a buffet. If they didn't falsely advertise and they did the rooms on a weekly basis, this would be a great place to stay for a family or a young couple. We have heard others complain too. They are very friendly and helpful here. The one gentleman at the gate was always smiling. What a great guy. It was just OK. Next time we will stay on the strip on 76 at a hotel. We were unable to check in until 9 PM because housekeeping had not finished cleaning yet. I love the idea of the place with lots of amenities, but we didn't get to do any of them because we couldn't get in. We just got to sleep there. There were only full sized beds. I had previously stayed at this resort earlier in the year. It was a studio room and was decent for the price paid. This time we had friends and got a double room and was in building 1. This place does have a grand entrance, nice grounds & feels like your out in the country. I think it was a little misleading when you check in you think you are staying in this hotel but it's not, I was told this grand hotel are people who have time shares! When you closed the door you could see light outside through the door bottom. We made a pot of coffee but there were no cups so we called the front desk & after a half hour we finally got them. Meanwhile the fridge didn't work, called again. Later when I turned on the facet we only had hot water, called again. Maintenance came fixed both, but when we turned on the water it was always warm water. We got cold water out of the tub. The shower curtin was almost falling down there were holes in the walls where the shower rod was screwed into the wall 4 other times. This hotel is how would you say on the older side! I will have to say the beds were comfortable but the sheets would come off because they were not fitted sheets just top sheets tucked under. There BREAKFAST WAS TERRIBLE! For the money you pay it's not worth it. We went once & never went back They have your basic stuff but the hot food wascool by the time you sat down to eat it was cold. We had a 2 bedroom condo. The part of the property we were in was on a steep hill. The parking is very inadequate. There were towels left in the jacuzzi tub, and wads of hair on the bathroom floor. "Wouldn't book again unless guaranteed a better experience"
Not what we were expecting AT ALL!!!! Upon being disappointed (after our 1 1/2 hour wait to check in, understaffed at prime arrival time-everyone was upset) with our room we asked if there was anything else available that we could upgrade to and pay the difference. We were told nothing available, however the studio right next to us was empty the whole […] time we were there as well as many others. We would gladly pay the difference to move.
