"Great Hotel"
Beds are really firm, not that great of beds for the comfort, but theres hardly a hotel for that. All in all a great place to stay. It is in a great spot to get anywhere in Branson. "Decent for the price."
Best complimentary breakfast I've had, even from much pricier hotels. Rooms were nice. Maid service was below average; a pizza box was even left by the hall trash for three days before the maids disposed of it. Pool area was okay. "Will not stay again."
The pool area was not and the pool was unfit to swim in, unable to see bottom of pool (NASTY). The pool area had a bad odor. Also the elevator was out for a day and we had to go up 10 flights of stairs to get to our room. Keep in mind the temp out side was 105 + and the stairwell was not air-conditioned. I really liked staying at this hotel. The fact that breakfast was included and that wifi was free were must haves. That's one meal I don't have to worry about in the day, and with the wifi I can surf for what's going on around town or check showtimes. Now for the bad news... We stayed during a heat wave so the halls were always a bit warm, as was the […] breakfast room up on the 9th floor. Ever try to eat a hot breakfast in a room warm enough to break a sweat? It's about as fun as having to walk up 8 flights of stairs because both elevators stopped working for several after someone pulled the fire alarm. At least they were able to get the elevators working by morning and the fire alarm only woke us up two more times around 2am and 3am. Branson's Grand Plaza Hotel was not on the main street as we felt the internet listing makes you believe but a little off path. So driving is almost needed. The hotel is clean, the resturant very nice, friendly, and decent prices. Carts for checking in & out were almost not existent which was a real problem for many visitors. It actually took us four […] trips up & down to 7th floor with our luggage. We waited over 1/2 an hr for a cart. Each guest receives a cookie or two-but my, my do not go over that limit! Our family went down for our daughters 13th birthday and the first night the hotel fire alarm went off and the fire dept. Could not locate a fire and had trouble resetting the alarm. We hung out in the lobby and eventually left to drive around because it was about 2 hrs before we could enter the room. No apologies were said.
