The room was nicely updated and I loved the wood floor. No question/concern about dirty carpets like other hotels in the area. Very small shower! Upstairs room in the summer was warm but the wall a/c worked fine. It was very loud and difficult to sleep through but it worked. This hotel was such a great surprise. It looks log cabin style outside, but inside it is very modern and homey. The bed was SO comfortable! This is a very basic place to stay. The location is very good - walking distance to casinos at state line. The room was clean with a good size fridge and a nice big flat screen tv. The big negative was that complimentary internet is promised and advertised in the rooms, but did not work. Location, location, location! Walking distance to restaurants, stores, and gondolas! The hotel was a perfect spot for a quick getaway. "Not bad for a last minute deal on a big holiday"
We had limited choices for a last minute 4th of July weekend getaway that was pet friendly. Of course the rates were double almost triple normal rates, but that's to be expected. Good location a couple of blocks from Heavenly Villiage (Gondola, shopping and dining) the casinos @ Stateline and the private beach and a marina with boat rentels on Lake […] Tahoe. There is plenty of casual dining within minutes by walking as well as art galleries, Starbucks, movie theaters and a full service grocery store (Raleys). The rooms are small and there are noisy A/C units to cool the rooms. Nice large flat screen TV, a small fridge. There are no blow dryers, coffee maker or microwaves in the room, but there is a microwave, coffee and internet in the lobby. There was wifi, but we were not comfortable using as it asked for our passwords. Our in room phone was not working. We had an amazing time and all in all it met our needs. "Highland Hotel - noisy noisy!"
The radiator must have been installed in the 1940's and was incredibly loud. My girlfriend and I got no sleep because it sounded like somebody was in the corner whacking a metal pot with a spoon. "Great quick trip"
We booked a few days before, got there pretty late and it was easy to find. A great location, close to the casinos. The only bad thing was our heater didn't work so we were freezing for the first hour, the fix it guy came and got it working. We drove up on a Friday. Not sure if we’d make it (weather permitting) we waiting until we knew the coast was clear to make our reservation. That said, we felt that the price we paid was a DEAL. Check-in was easy, the room was clean and a decent size (as big or bigger than an average hotel rm). Pros – Great location – we skied Heavenly on Saturday, […] ate out a few times and explored the area without having to drive at all! Also, they are connected to a ski shop that rents gear at very affordable prices! Maid service is thorough – this place gets high points for being a clean, especially for an Inn. Comfortable Beds – The room looked like a page out of the IKEA catalog Great price!! Cons – Noise- Our Heater made a considerable amount of noise & you can hear everything the people are doing above you (we were on the first floor). "Great Value but Heater Was Noisy"
This place is blocks away (within walking distance) from Lake Tahoe, the casinos/state line, Heavenly Ski Resort, and tons of shopping and dining options. The location doesn't get any better. The hotel lobby was being renovated when we were there - so there was a bit of a construction zone vibe going on. The room itself was really nice - bamboo flooring, […] big flat screen tv, pedestal sink, etc. My only complaint was that the heater in our unit (102) was extremely noisy - so much so that I had a really hard time sleeping the first night. We check in early on Saturday afternoon. The man at the front desk is hard of hearing and a bit grumpy but it was an easy check in. We went to the room and it was nicer than we expected! Comfy beds and hardwood floors. The decor was like a modern/chic in Tahoe look! We had a mini-fridge, flat screen TV as well. This hotel is located about a block away from the gondola at Heavenly, so it's super convenient to skiing and restaurants. Stateline is a 10-minute walk. The rooms have updated, hip decor...and they have fake fireplace units that warm the rooms pretty well. Staff was friendly and helpful. Definitely not a 3 star motel by any means. The rooms were remodeled but didn't feel very clean. We pulled a used band aid off the sheets which disgusted us. There was hair on the bath towels and the bathroon sink didn't drain well at all. When we checked in the wall heaters pilot light wasn't lit so the room was freezing. The hotel is close to the lake. It is modern. Hardwood floors and marble in bathroom, flat screen TV. The minuses were internet was slow or not functional, although the front desk told me that someone is going to replace the antenna.
