Christina and Deon at the front desk helped my wife and me immensely, with local advise about where to eat and what sights to see. Deon made sure my phone worked, when we got there , no dial tone and our floor safe wouldn't lock, that was fixed. Gary the GM also gave advice about the Beacon and we had a fabulous time there and it was a new adventure […] for us. The sad part was the room we asked for and were upgraded to was a pool side room, at 10 pm we were locked into out patio, which is strange as our last stay there, we were able to use the pool and hot tub after hours. For the price of the rooms, we had no complaints. We found the cost very reasonable. I only wish they had a better cable / tv service. Would have loved to been able to get a movie or have a guide. Loved the close proximity to everything.

My wife and I spent our first anniversary weekend at this hotel and we were more than satisfied. We stayed in a poolside suite and the hot tub in our room was very convenient. The shower is monstrous in it's size. The bed was comfortable and it was quiet. The proximity to the lake and to the stateline was the icing on the cake.

Really liked this hotel. Stayed with hubby & dog in poolside suite. Room was not large for a suite. It has a big whirlpool tub in the room. Large glass/tile shower. Hated the on-wall "heating system." Was warm enough, but it takes forever to kick in. Huge outdoor hot tub was great. Bed/sheets were comfy. Room was nice but a bit dark, even with 4 lamps. […] Towels were crunchy/not soft. We had fridge but no microwave. Bose stereo a nice touch. Walking distance to shopping/food/Raleys supermarket and Heavenly Vilkage Gondola. Would stay there again, but if you are new to Tahoe, it's hard to find a good restaurant! This hotel was literally two blocks from Heavenly's gondola. We booked it one hour before we arrived on their doorstep. Dion, the employee at the front desk, was so kind to us! He introduced us to his dog who was sitting behind the desk and made us feel right at home :-). He also loaned us a wine opener because we forgot to bring one. You gotta wonder, as you go through the usual instructions, orientation, and credit card-swipe at check-in, when they mention that after the front desk closes at 10 you can call in your concerns...to the local police. I dismissed it as merely helpful or thorough - and the front desk clerk *was* efficient enough - until the neighbors started to fight […] and swear and we could hear every mounting accusation. Certainly the neighbors' behavior isn't the hotel's fault or responsibility, but in hindsight I've wondered if this kind of incident might be a regular occurrence, hence their mention of the police's phone number. If the number was offered to me as a subtle and final warning, though, somehow I missed the cue, but honestly I'll think twice before taking my chances here again, as attractive as the promotional price and piney decor are. (Fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice...) -- Long story short, it's a perfect place if the neighbors behave. Read more

The motel is located within walking distance of Harvey's, Harrah's, Horizon and Montblue casinos and a sandy beach on Lake Tahoe. It's not right next to the casinos or right next to the beach but I'd say it's within a 1/4 mile of them. The king sized bed was comfortable and there were plenty of sheets and blankets to keep us warm. There was also an […] extra blanket in the bottom dresser drawer. We brought our own pillows so I can't honestly rate theirs but they appeared rather full and fluffy. The refrigerator was quiet and worked great. We used the coffee pot twice and it worked just fine. The room has a digital safe to keep your valuables in. No cost to use the safe. The bathroom was a bit small. Narrow with a standard sized tub/shower and toilet. The sink/vanity is located in the main part of the room next to the door. The TV is an older tube style set and only about 19" screen. Some of the channels had poor reception with lines and snow. The wi-fi was sporadic. Sometimes it worked, sometimes it didn't. The room had 3 dresser drawers. Two of the drawers had slides that were bent which made the drawers stick and not close all the way. The cooling/heating unit worked fine. We didn't need to tax that system much as the weather was perfect. We mainly used the unit on fan mode to provide air circulation. Decor: knotty pine paneling on walls and ceiling. No nightstands with drawers, just tables. Read more

Location is perfect - one block south of the beach, one block north of the town center. Nice dual-level hot tub. This was not a resort by any stretch of imagination. It is an old run down hotel. I'm glad my stay was only one night, we got up at 5 am just to get out of there. The carpet is old and smelly, the lock on the door scraped against the wall everytime you open or close the door.
