"Incredibly rude and pushy service"
Me and my friends used to stay here all the time, but there seems to be new management. The blond woman who checked us in was about the most curt and unhelpful person I think I have ever dealt with at a motel. We got two queen beds, one for our 3 yr old and one for us. Our son fit perfect on the bed, but it was very uncomfortable for us. We usually get queen size beds, but these were super small. There was no microwave or fridge inside our room. The room was a lot further than they say it is from heavenly ski or lake tahoe blvd (the main st). "Highly mis-manged"
I was angry. Upon checkin I was told there were no rooms available on the 1st floor (I'm 66 and look it) and was given a room in the 3rd fl. across the street. After lugging all of our things across the street and up to the 3rd fl, the room was occupied!. So after being told that's the only 2 bedroom room, we were moved to a room on the 1st floor. Soon […] after I went back to the office and asked what my compensation would be for this extreme inconvienience and was told the Manager, Mike will be calling me. This never happened. Additionally the room was dirty, there was mold on the bathroom walls. The clock didn't work, they replaced it ( why didn't they do that in advance?) and there was no drain plug in the bathtub, so my wife could not take a bath. They finally delivered that 2 days later. I understand that problems occur, but quality service is how you respond to problem. Lying to your customers is not how to retain customers. These guys stink at it! The room was so dirty we did not want to put our clothes on a chair. I am not a smoker so did not mind the no smoking rule as smoking rooms generally smell bad. Don't expect a casino at this place. It's not that. Casinos are up the street through a questionable neighborhood. The room was just a room. Not a picture on the wall. No much of anything. "Don't be Fooled by the Name or Pictures"
This is basically the "Bates Motel" on a back street of S. Lake Tahoe. Despite the name, there is NO casino (I guess they call it "casino center" because there ARE casinos in the Tahoe area.) The pictures on their website make it look like a luxurious spa resort -- quite funny really. This motel is in a great location. Walking distance to the casino and shopping. Good breakfast with make your own fresh waffles. Older motel. Our shower did not drain well and by the end of it the tub was half full of water. "It served it's purpose...could have been better...could have been worse"
I was traveling to South Lake Tahoe to be in a wedding. I needed the trip to cost as little as possible. The location ended up being perfect as my friend, the bride was staying at Harveys and luckily this hotel ended up being behind it. One of the reasons why I chose this hotel was because of the indoor heated pool. Upon arrival I was informed that […] it was closed for repairs....frustrating. The room was comfortable and clean and served its purpose for me. The continental breakfast room needs help. The layout creates confusion and lines that don't move. The one belgium waffle maker that they have (which of course is in high demand) is at the end of the room. Since everyone wants a waffle and it takes three minutes for one to cook the line doesn't move. Coffee and juice are after the waffle maker, not a smart layout. It would make more sense to have the coffee and juice up front so that at least you can sit and have a cup of coffee while waiting for a waffle. The staff was friendly. "Rodeway Inn and Casino Center - Needs an upgrade"
We arrived at about 8.30pm on a Friday night after being stuck in traffic for 5 hrs from Fairfield to South Lake Tahoe, we were ready to un pack and relax for a bit before heading to the casinos. The first room they gave us the heat didn't work. It also didn't look like the pictures on the site nor matched the reviews. The second room we moved all of […] our luggage to, the heat didn't work and it too looked like the first room. And finally the third room we were put in was for the pet owners and was worse than the first too rooms. Usually when you are inconvienced you get upgraded not downgraded. It needs a serious upgrade. I'm not sure where the pictures were taken for the hotels.com website but, none of the 3 rooms we went into were of a 4 star quality like the reviews stated. We were VERY disappointed in reserving this room by taking the advice of the "4 star" review by guests who have stayed there.
