"Expected More"
I stayed at the Fairfield Inn in January 2013 for one night with my husband and infant son. We had an early morning flight and wanted to stay somewhere that we could do the park-n-fly. I was annoyed that there was a bright street light right outside of our room and the blinds did not close the entire way so our room never got dark. There were blackout […] shades, however there was about an inch gap between the shades so they still let in a lot of light. The bathroom was very dated and did not feel clean. My husband and I opted not to shower as the bathroom was not visible dirty but had the appearance that it had not been thoroughly cleaned in a long time. The breakfast was great- good variety, filling and plenty of options. The shuttle service was fine except you could not reserve a spot on it and we needed to take the first shuttle available in the morning if we were going to get to the airport in time. The shuttle was completely full and it was a little stressful to make sure that we were on the shuttle. The pick-up after our return was great and timely, no complaints. For a Marriott I thought it would be more comfortable it was good but it was just like a days inn. But it was nice, there wasn't anything around, had to drive 15 mins to get to a restaurant. "Staff seemed "put-off""
The room was exceptionally clean and for being so close to the airport, the planes passing overhead were not heard in the rooms. I received quick pick and drop off to Dulles from very friendly individuals. But a few of the staff seemed put off when asked questions or when we needed something. My grandson locked the bathroom door and when the desk person […] came to unlock it, the reception was borderline rude. It was a strange reaction to such a quick fix. When we checked in we were told the breakfast was available until 10am. I took my granddaughter at 9:40am and everything was cleaned up. I asked the woman wiping the counters if she could unlock the refrigerator on the counter so my grdaughter could get a yogurt, the woman gave me a dirty look and asked what room we were in before scowling at us once more before handing us a yogurt. We had no plans on making a mess for her to clean and didn't stay in the lounge to eat. My son got the same reaction when he arrived with the 2 boys earlier that morning. Later we saw the sign stating breakfast was until 9am on weekdays. A courteous mention of the breakfast hours would have been a more pleasant start to the day. We found everything to be very nice with the exception of the noise level and the amount of light coming into the room. The planes were very noisy, and the windows are designed so that only sheers cover them. During the day, the sun shines right into the room, and at the night the lights from the grounds shine into the room, which makes it difficult […] to sleep. The inn was a nice oasis. Easy access to Dulles, comfortable stay, great continental breakfast (the make it yourself waffles were great), and the convenient shuttle to Dulles took all the stress out of our travel. We have booked this hotel during our Fourth of July long weekend. We have thoroughly enjoyed the hotel room. It is neat, clean, spacious and noise-free. It has free parking, free Wi-Fi and free breakfast. The best part of this hotel is the free breakfast. The selection is amazing. If you don't like bagels or self-made pan-cakes or muffins or the self-made […] toast and breakfast sandwich, you can certainly enjoy various yogurt flavors, fruit cups, personal size cereal cups, mik, apple and orange juice, and, of course, coffee. Fruits are also available. If you are arriving from Dulles airport, this place is very convenient. It takes about 20 to 25 mins to reach the Vienna-Fairfax GMU metro station. There are two gas stations very close to this hotel. One of the gas stations also serves Subway sandwiches. Many restaurants can be found within 5 mile radius. De ontvangst en inboeking was een drama. Pas na een heftige scheldpartij ging de baliemedewerkers er pas toe over om zijn manager te bellen. De bediening in het keukentje is ook erg onpersoonlijk.
