"You're paying for the proximity to the falls"
It's a run of the mill motel in a prime location. Minutes of walking gets you to the falls and goat island. The American side of the falls provides excellent access to the the falls themselves but little else.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Great location"
This hotel has very competitive pricing, and it has the absolute best location on the US side of the falls. Its doors faces the Niagara Falls State Park, so literally you come down from the hotel and walk right up to the park. This is great, because it enables you to simply take a stroll along the park (and see the falls) whenever you want to, and walk […] back to your hotel as needed (e.g. bathroom emergency or to change clothes after getting wet at the Cave of the Winds). On the downside, the conditions of the hotel are above acceptable, but it's evident that its days of glory are long gone. The carpeting is old, the halls has a distinct "old" smell, but then again, we visited the finer 4-5 stars hotels in the area and apparently they're all the same. It seems the whole area has been forgotten by tourists in general, therefore hotel owners are unable to keep updating their hotels as frequently. Having said that, the Comfort Inn The Pointe is fairly updated (on a relative basis). Also, the rooms are spacious, and have all the amenities you need (flat lcd cable tv, free wifi, free parking, free breakfast, a/c - heater, hot/cold water). "Comfort inn at the pointe-can't beat the location"
This hotel was a great value, and very convienant !300 yards from the falls, accomadating, clean, free parking and "free breakfast" however, you will be hard pressed to find something that you could actually eat at the "breakfast" . Very, Very, poor quality, not exaherating at all when I say you really couldn't it ANYTHING there. I wouldn't let that […] stop you from staying there though. It was free, so just eat somewhere else. We enjoyed our stay the only complaint we have is that your halls are not air conditioned. After coming in from so much walking and having to walk down the halls and them hot it kind of made you feel sick. Smelly dirty rooms, couldn't wait to get out. Breakfast served in a school canteen type area in the basement with no windows or fresh air. Insufficient tables. We're repeat visitors to this hotel basically because of the great location. It's a no frills hotel, but everything works and is generally clean. Breakfast is great, but gets very crowded and you often have to wait for a table to open. "Rooms smelling"
Hotel is located couple of blocks away of Niagara falls. Everything is near walkable distance.
