"2 night stay..."
This was the 2nd visit to a Courtyard by Marriott for me that week (previous night was in a Chicago area Courtyard). Great renovated lobby and reception area. "Great location, good staff, ok room."
As a frequent business traveler, I often stay at Courtyard Marriotts because they are clean, offer great food/bar options, and have the amenities (free Wi-Fi etc) I'm looking for. My primary complaint about this particular Courtyard was that when set to "automatic" the heater in the room never turned off at the set temperature, it switched to air. In […] other words, it ran all night long in order to maintain the same temperature. The constant noise disrupted my sleep and I woke up with a wicked head cold from the frequent cold air. If you aren't temperature sensitive, you'd probably be fine. "Excellent service, nice room"

"Needs better emergency plan"
There was a fire on my floor in the middle of the night I stayed. The hotel was evacuated. I later learned from hotel staff that it was an electrical fire from hotel room heater/fan. There was no fire alarm or room strobe activated and I sleep with a white noise device... sometimes earplugs but luckily not that night. I was awakened after several announcements […] overhead speaker in hallway but could not understand what was said so went out in the hall to find it quite smoky. No one else was in the hall so I wasn't sure where it was coming from and what exit to take or if it was under control or not. Front desk not answer phone so I opened door again and saw fire fighter who told me to leave the building and what exit to take which I did. It appeared to me I was one of the last to get out as the lobby was full. It seemed to be a minor fire and we were allowed back in rooms an hour or so later but I was concerned that hotel staff did not think it necessary to activate the full fire alarm and room strobe. I felt the night staff should have put someone in charge of the desk phone even if it was a guest to give evacuation instructions to callers. There were obviously others still in rooms because the desk phone was ringing non-stop but not answered. From now on I will always take notice of emergency exits and info provided in room.
