It had snowed the day before and the steps and walks were not scooped in the back of the property by villa 6 where we stayed making climbing them with our luggage dicey. The handrails were not brushed off of the snow/ice either. When we checked in we were asked if we wanted close to the pool and hotel center or in a quieter location. After not being able to find our rooms because of the poorly stated signs, finally had to walk back to the front desk to request assistance. We were shown our room which had not yet been cleaned so the process had to start over again. Overall the hotel is in a good condition and is nice once you actually get the room. The problem for us (and many others that day) was that check-in time was at 4 PM and that is in fact when we tried checking in. We didn't get into our room until 5 PM. Every single person that tried to check in around the same time as us was told that they were in the […] room cleaning their room now. They lied to numerous people saying another 20 minutes and then when that time came, another person would say another 20-30 minutes. They should have the rooms ready at 4 PM and hire extra staff if you can't clean the rooms in time from 11 AM (checkout time) to 4 PM. They also didn't seem to "offer" us a different room that was already cleaned until we asked about it. It seems that their receptionists don't understand simple troubleshooting on the customers' behalf. All of this just adds to a lot of frustration considering we were paying a high fee for the stay. We "may" stay there again but if you have plans to head out around check-in time I would say make sure you allow enough time for a possible later check-in. We also asked if we could get a late checkout the next day since we needed the extra time and even though we were inconvenienced with the check-in, they stated we would need to call in the morning to ask and it wasn't a guarantee. The resort was fully booked but didn't feel crowded. There are lots of pools... outside, they had an adult pool and right across were the family pools (three of them) both located beside the bar / hamburger stand. If you are just looking for relaxing time away this isn't a bad place. The room was very small for what we paid for it. The elevators don't really work well. The grounds and hotel are well kept but everything is really expensive and generally old feeling. If you don't have a discount for something it is going to cost a lot. Staff was rude, there were no openable windows in our room which was very stuffy, air conditioner gave off dust like particles, no elevator to get to our floor which made having a baby and a stroller with us very difficult. Paper thin walls and a couple who had a domestic dispute in the room next to us made our night with the baby awful.
