"Poor upkeep and maintenance"
We have stayed here a number of times but the last three times have shown a steady decline. The refrigerator ice maker did not work and there is no ice machine in the hotel other than one on the first floor. The carpet was torn and frayed between the bath and bedroom and worn generally throughout the suite. There were no ash trays again in a smoking […] room and none immediately available at the front desk although they were delivered to the room later. "close to attractions"
The hotel was very nice however they put us in a room where both bedroom and living room over looked the roof with two air conditioning units (right next to the windows) and the back tower of the other wing. We had absolutely NO view of anything outside and could barely see the sky. This room should never be occupied unless the hotel was completely […] full. "Comfortable, but Worn"
My daughter and I booked a couple of nights at this hotel for a "girls weekend" in St. Louis, and we were comfortable. The space was adequate and seemed to have the necessary comforts. It was so nice to have a kitchen and living area and the bed was comfortable. However, the room was a strange mix of old and new! They had two nice flat screen TVs but […] NO DVD players in either room. There were solid surface counter tops in the kitchen and dressing area, but the ancient vanity under the bathroom sink was nailed shut, so there was no storage! Kind of strange. Anyway, overall, the furniture was comfy and the room mostly updated. We did have some issues with service. The refrigerator was completely shut off and we did not notice it until we already had stuff in there. We had to turn it on ourselves and then wait for the ice to make. Also, we asked the front desk for a DVD player and were told they only had 2 for the entire property and that they were "occupied" for the next week! A third strange factor was that when we called to find out how to run the AV equipment (we wanted to plug in our gaming system) they didn't know how to do it, and we basically figured it out on our own. Maybe we were just "out of sync" with this property, or maybe it was geared toward business travelers, but it annoyed us that the wonderful breakfast ended at 9:00 a.m. and that the evening hot food bar was only Monday - Thursday, rendering these great features virtually useless for weekend vacations! "WoW, Ill never stay in a regular hotel again"
The convience of having a kitchen and extra room to lounge in was ideal for our group. A weary Moms get away w out kids...what a perfect location next to mall and awesome resturants. pf changs, cheesecake fact. etc...We only wished we'd stayed loonger than 2 nights.
