This was a nice place, situated alongside a lake/natural area. Front desk was attentive and efficient. Best shower I've seen in a hotel in years- super water pressure. Very comfortable bed too.

Overall, hotel stay was great. The hotel is close to UF in Gainesville, so there were a few party-type people located near my room. Overall noise from other guests was not too bad. I had an adjoining door between two rooms, and could clearly hear what the other party in the next room was saying (they were a little loud). But thankfully, they were not […] loud at night. Hotel layout is a little difficult to navigate; I had to ask for directions several time. Rooms were nice and beds were comfortable (soft mattresses). Great value for the money. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Very close to the University of Florida. The staff was extremely helpful, accomodating, warm and friendly. The hotel restaurant was very nice and the food was great.

The shuttle service is very convenient and above and beyond what I've received at other hotels across the country. It's a nice mini-van for a shuttle and they even offered to pick me up from my destination and take me straight to the airport. Staff was excellent. Food service needs attention - had to send my wife's meal back - they did not charge us. Elevator would not work on two ocassions. Door lock on room to exterior had to be replaced after we checked in. Facility basic systems are old and tired.

We traveled to Shand's Hospital from Massachusetts on business. The Paramount is always good to stay at. The price is good,the location is really good.The beds are very comfortable and clean. The rooms are being updated.The views of the lake are great and the pool is wonderful. Everyone was SO friendly and accommodating. The shuttle service was a huge bargain. I saved money by not needing a rental car. I was offered free resume paper for my printing needs. Great value of a hotel.

This is the third year in a row I have stayed at the Paramount. I will continue to book there whenever in town for art shows. Feeling is shared by my fellow artists in that they have stayed there over 30 times. Great hotel with wonderful restaurant and lounge on site.

I have a lot for work, upwards of 80-100 nights a year in hotels and this very well could be the worst hotel i have ever stayed at. I am not too familiar with other establishments in Gainesville this is the first and hopefully last time in the area. Overall, it was a good experience. The location was convenient to everywhere I wanted to be. The grounds are beautiful with the lake and the oak trees hanging with spanish moss. The staff was friendly and helpful. The happy hour mini-buffet was a welcome treat after a long day of work and the creme brulee was delicious! I stayed in the "1000 building" […] and apparently they have historically had issues with the elevator in that building. In order to get to my floor, the 2nd, I had to constantly push the "2" button for the elevator to first move then push it again along with the door open button for the doors to open and let me out. The morning I was leaving to check out, 4:30 AM on 8/23/12, the elevator did not work at all. I phoned the front desk and was told I could use the stairs. When I informed the desk attendant that I couldn't carry my bags up the stairs, he came to carry them for me. He said the elevator repairman would be coming later that morning. I hope those issues have been resolved for future guests. Read more

Room was quiet, bed was comfortable. Convenient location close to Shands. Housekeeping needs to improve. There were fresh blood stains on the top sheet, the desk chair was torn and stained. Air conditioner didn't cool off room until just before daybreak.

I stayed in this hotel 3 years ago and decided to stay again on my recent trip as it had been a very nice place to stay previously. Not So Much any more. The rooms are run down the aor conditioner was weak and the room was muggy and stuffy . I booked a King Size Room when i arrived I was assigned a room in the bowels of the hotel and the room had only […] a Queen size bed. I returned to the front desk luggage in tow and requested a different room which they provided. I ate at the hotels restaurant to save time, the food took forever, the wait staff was slow as cold molasses in winter and the food was mediocre at best though the prices are rather high. I thought I would do the breakfast buffet in the morning since you cant really mess up a buffet, but I stand corrected they messed up the buffet, if you want eggs they are made to order which should be a nice touch but they are done in the kitchen not at the buffet line so you have to flag someone from the wait staff and order them then you receive a very small portion of egg after waiting 1 hour for a simple scramble. and if you order juice it takes forever to get to you and they serve it in what might as well be thimbles. All in all I was not pleased with my stay. I would steer clear of this debacle of a hotel. shame it has good bones and alot of pottential. Read more

I spent 8 nights here while I was attending class on the UF campus. The location was convenient, only a few miles from campus. The facilities were fine, nothing special but I did have a clean room. It was not luxury, but it was fine and I have no complaints. Also, the price was right. I plan on staying there again on my next trip.
