Country Inn & Suites By Carlson, Concord (Kannapolis), NC

The hotel is very nice. The people were also very pleasant. Sadly, the room was not set up the way we requested (after we called to confirm an hour before our arrival) which woke up our twins :( So, I think we pretty much woke up everyone on our floor. But the hotel itself is very nice and the breakfast the next morning was fabulous.

I liked the location, I was suprised to stay in an ADA room. Stayed for 3 nights and was told after first night I could be moved next day due to hotel being full. That was a Saturday and staff seemed busy with new guest so I didn't bother changing rooms. Waffle maker didn't work for breakfast and wasn't really impressed with the rest of the food. The room was frankly more than anticipated. Day staff was very friendly and personable, however, night staff seemed to be sleeping in back and were reluctant to provide assistance. WiFi did not work at all for first 2 days and thereafter only intermittently.

When we checked in, we were first send to a roon that was never cleaned from the previous occupiants. The gentleman at the front desk fixed the issue promptly. The room we ended up with was okay. Pillows were lacking, and there was little water pressure. But it was clean and the decor is nice.

This was our second time staying at this hote. Our first stay was wonderful, the hotel was booked to the max, had a great room and the staff was friendly. Our second stay wasn't the best. We were placed in a "handicap" room which is located near the vending/ice machine. I found the granite countertops to be too tall for me to use. I'm 5'1" and felt like I had to stand on my tip toes while brushing my teeth in the sink. The counters are beautiful, but not user friendly for me. The room was clean and nicely decorated.

The hot breakfast offerings were somewhat strange. It would be better to just keep it as continental on weekdays thatn to serve the combinations offered during the week ( chicken patties, french toast sticks, and a version of eggs on one day, sausage gravy, biscuits, and burritos on another day. Chelsey was working the front desk upon my check in and you could not ask for a more sweet pleasant clerk. She has a very bubbly personality and is a true difference make when it comes to customer service. Being in the Service industry for over 30 years she is a keeper for sure.

I totally enjoyed my stay at the Country Inn Suites in Concord, NC. It was a bit disappointing that it was as far away from my initial destination, overall...but, the location, itself, was not bad and easily accessible off the highway. We enjoyed our stay. The staff was very pleasant and eager to assist with anything we needed. Everything was as we expected except the descrpition of our handicapped accessible room. We needed a walk in shower and room for a motorized chair. The room had a regular bathtub/shower with no hand-held device and not enough room to move the chair freely. […] The staff was apologetic for the mistake explaining the room size and distress signaling devices were their qualification and offered a shower chair during our stay. This was a nice hotel and it was obviously fairly new. Our room was clean except for a stain on the carpet. Breakfast was good and the room was not cramped like some breakfast areas can be in hotels. Also a nice distance from the highway. However, walls were thin and we could hear a lot from the rooms on either side of us.

We were on Spring Break, needed a place to visit. Looked around for a hotel that could accommodate 2 families totaling 5, 2 adults, 3 children and 6, 2 adults, 4 children. Country Inn was the only hotel who was willing to accommodate. We appreciated that, as surrounding hotel would not accept us.

Don't be fooled by its close proximity to I 77; the location is quiet yet convenient to everything. The gentleman who checked us in was very polite, engaging and professional as was the young woman who checked us out. Thank you Country Inns for not hiring personality challenged, indifferent, annoying 20 somethings for your front desk. The housekeeping […] staff however was a bit below par. We had asked them leave extra towels, more shampoo and a toothbrush; this was done on a note with some money to recognize extra service. When we came back to the room, only one more towel, no shampoo or toothbrush. The room was clean, the bed comfortable but the tiny little pillows on the bed we a bit weird to sleep on but the room had a nice large flat screen TV, refridge and micro. What is really great; FREE internet and a very large breakfast area with a pretty decent breakfast bar. I would stay here again. Read more

Very good, except the large, stand-up, wander-around-inside shower stall lacks any shelf for your shampoo, shower gel, or any other item you need in the shower, and there is no rack at all for temporary racking of your wash cloth, and to wash your feet and lower legs, you are forced to stand on one foot (a safety hazard!) or sit on the floor of the […] stall (yikes!!!). I had to set my items on the top of the water closet of the commode and reach back-and-forth to use them while showering. This complaint is apparently applicable to all these inns, and not unique to this particular location. I don't understand how the designer could have missed these must-have ancillary devices. It is incredible. Also, I don't like the trend (I think this is a trend in lodging facilities) to utilize four, squarish pillows instead of two rectangular pillows. You end up with your head between pillow cracks. Bed pillows are not seat cushions, and should be rectangular. Has "decoration" supplanted utility to the detriment of the traveller??? Read more

Really enjoyed our stay. Like that the windows open even if only a few inches to let fresh air in the room, even though the room smelled great - not stale or like bleach or lysol -- just a fresh clean smell. Bed was very comfortable. Staff was friendly. Only complaint we had was we could not access the internet from our laptop and could at other hotels […] on our trip, so it was definitely a hotel issue. I love this hotel but the connecting room door left a lot to be desired. We could here the conversation of our next door neighbor real clearly. Perhaps he was just talking too loud. In addition, I got up to read in the wee hours of the morn and sat in the hallway as to not to disturb my husband. I heard noise in the stairwell like someone or folks either […] fighting or running. It was really scary. The next morning I asked the desk person what was happening and he said he had no idea. Oddly though I saw their security person there that morning.
