Room was clean, easy access to pool, beds were comfortable with adjustable firmness, staff was friendly enough. However not all rooms have a shower/tub as described online. "....It's all in the details"
My boyfriend and I stayed here for two nights. The hotel is in a great location and at first glance looks great! Once we made it to the room everything changed. The room was nice size and had a good layout. There was a very funky odor in the room as well as the hallway... and the bed was literally like sleeping on pavement! The pillows looked soft and […] fluffy but were 100% down so they flattened to a pancake when you laid back on them. The "black out" curtains rest on either side of the heater, a/c unit (which blows cold air for a few minutes before the warm air) and there is a small "black out" curtain above the heater, a/c unit. This curtain was not long enough to block out the direct sunlight that poured into the room. The kleenex in the bathroom had two sheets in it and we had less than half a roll of toilet paper. Overall the hotel did not meet our standards ... We appreciated the girl that brought us new pillows at 2am and we liked the location of the hotel...but that was about it. "Cozy, great breakfast!"
We stayed one night while visiting the nearby Mall and Legoland. Cozy bed, clean bathrooms, minifridge/microwave. Tried the indoor pool, but it was a bit too cold. Hot tub looked "foamy" too, so we didn't get in it. Highlight of our stay was the breakfast buffet. Omelette bar, nice choices of bread, bagels, etc. Waitstaff was super nice! Only complaint- […] the front desk staff in the daytime was pretty curt. We had called in to try to get an early check-in so our kid could take a nap before we hit the mall and they were pretty rude about telling us that was not an option as they had been full the night before. I just find it hard to believe that it couldn't have been done... I didn't feel like they really tried, just gave a 'standard answer'. Then when we were getting there we got turned around and my husband called and asked for directions and we were told it was "west". Well I don't know about you, but I don't have a compass in my car, so we couldn't determine if "west" was left or right... that was annoying.. Also when we checked out I mentioned the cold pool and was just asked, "Well, did you call the front desk last night about it?". We stayed at this hotel last year on a family rode trip from NC to Mall of America. Since this was a pit stop, we arrived late and left early. My husband and I decided to go back to Chicago for a shopping trip and decided to stay for 3 nights and 4 days this time. The hotel was still the same as we had remembered. Our first nights stay was when the […] hotel was booked due to a hockey tournament that had around 2,000 kids that were going to be involved but, not sure how many kids were actually staying at this hotel. I rated this hotel a 4 becuase our first night, we had very loud neighbors that woke us up at 1 am and then they were back up at around 7 am. This also happened on night 2 of our stay but, not as loud and we couldn't tell if they were different people or not. They were very, very loud and this was very disappointing. Our rate was way cheaper for the 3 nights than it was for the 1 night and my husband feels that was the reason for the rude guest. I had been in the Schaumburg area for business 3 days out of the last 3 weeks and I had tried other hotels in the area and found them to be smelly, dirty, and the worse part such paper thin walls I felt like I was sleeping in the hallway or with the neighbors next door! Can't beat this hotel for the Schaumburg shopping area. IKEA, Woodfield and numerous shops nearby. Tons of restaurant and bar choices in all price ranges.
