"Cant beat this place...stay here alot!"
Travel a lot for sports with our teenage kids, and always try and stay at Embassy Suites. Cant beat the breakfast for a 15, and 16 year old, and adults get to enjoy the complementary managers reception. WINNER! "Disappointing - Not Worth the Price"

"Worst customer service ever experienced!"
This weekend was planned months in advance for annual shopping trip with friends. We have stayed at the hotel several years previous to this year and had no issues, however, our recent trip was a nightmare. The room had a very strong and unpleasant odor, which was intolerable. The concern with the room was immediately brought to the attention of hotel […] management and their resolution was to bring in a room ionizer. We left for dinner and when our group came back, the smell was even more overpowering. Again, the concern was brought to hotel management. There solution was an offer to put us in a smoking room, which did not accomodate our party of five. The management then offered to find us another hotel, however, one room at another hotel would not accomodate our party of five. Our group spent over two hours in the hotel lobby (smell in room was so bad) while waiting for a resolution. After several back and forth conversations a "final offer" was made to send us to the Renaissance Hotel, but only one room. We were told it was our problem that there were only beds for four people. We were also not reimbursed prior to our departure for our pre-paid room. Fortunately, the Renaissance Hotel staff was extremely accomodating and took care of us in a way that should have been done by Embassy Suites. ""Best Practice" failure???"
Typical Embassy Suites experience except for one thing. I returned to my room late afternoon and my door was propped open with the safety latch (the replacements for the old security chains). When I talked to two managers, I wasn't impressed with the response that was repeated over and over - the maid probably left it as a signal for the maintenance […] crew and it was only that way for a short period of time. When I mentioned that at that time, I saw no cleaning crews anywhere on the balconies, so it must be quite some time, it was finally aknowledged as a "best practice" failure. My belongings were intact, but it is unsettling from a safety perspective. At last, one of the managers apologized... that helped. I see two issues... the failure of their system, and the customer service training of the managers. They kept talking, looping repeatedly on their "best practice" line. I was tired after a long day. What would have worked for me would be something like "I'm sorry for your experience"; a statement of what they think happened; and what they will do to correct the issue and ensure it does not recur. My stay was exactly as expected: clean and quiet. The restaurant, Lafitte's, was fine but not special for the prices.
