Negatives: Not sure if I agree it's a 4 star hotel. It's more like 3 stars. Location is not ideal since it's not on Manhantan island. Subway is 10 minutes walk. Hotel shuttle takes you there and picks you up but was only available hourly at the time we need them (11am to 11pm). Bathroom is kind of dirty - needs Tilex/Clorox and a good scrub. My cups/mugs […] were not clean regularly. AC fan is noisy, runs the whole night. I think they cut off the AC at certain hour during the night. I know it turns back on at 4:30am because I was awake being a little hot. POSITIVES: My expensive stuff were untouched so I feel safe leaving my stuff in the room but not locked in the provided safe. Towels, beds are cleaned every day. Nice cold AC. Powerful hot shower. Free safe parking for my car (that was a must for me.) Very big size room for 4 of us. 2 nice queen size beds. Free Internet WIFI in the lobby. BEST one though is the penthouse on the roof. Parties on Fri, Sat, and really busy on Sunday nights. Lots of pretty sharp dressed young people. Makes me wish I was 20 yrs younger. We were too busy visiting NYC so didn't make it to the restaurant in the penthouse until the last night. The view is spectacular! Didn't eat there though so I can't comment on the quality of the food & service. Be sure to get up there at night and bring a good quality night time camera. Read more

The hotel was a little bit of a walk from the subway and the surrounding area wasn't great but my family did not encounter any problems & we walked it alot. There was a shuttle that ran on the hour that would take you to the metro and they had a car service available for rent to get you to and from the airport. We called when we got to the airport to […] ask about getting there though and they never offered the car so we were disappointed they didn't give us that option...instead we wrestled with the bus and metro, which is not good from LaGuardia....My only other complaint is that on Friday and Saturday nights there are huge parties on the top of the hotel that last almost to sunup and the noise makes it hard to sleep! We were on the 3rd floor and we could still hear it....anything higher than that, would have to be a fibrating noise! The rooms were nice though, the front desk was helpful, the water was good temp and pressure, and the beds were comfortable. The views of the city from the rooms were awesome! This hotel is great for those who want to save but do not leave the comfort of hand. The only downside is the distance from the subway station to the hotel, I think about 20 minutes from the station F. With about 10 minutes you're in Manhattan, very close. Our room was clean. The hotel has a party every night on the roof, so perhaps not a great choice for families vacationing with small children. The roof top view was beautiful, however the food wasn't very good. This hotel would definitely appeal to singles, looking for a party.

First, don't be fooled by the pictures. Overall, I must say the hotel is ok for the price and I wouldn't totally be against staying at this hotel if you absolutely have to for whatever reason. But bear in mind, the location is right under the Queensboro bridge in a rather rundown industrial area. Room design is terrible. I like open style and modern […] designs but having the bathroom separated from beds by only a frosted glass door (open at the top and bottom) is just plain stupid! This hotel is trying hard to pass as a 4-star but in my opinion it's not even a 3-star. The breakfast was also very basic and poorly presented with mediocre coffee, some stale bread and roughly cut-up melon and pineapple. If you're taking a cab to Manhattan, good luck finding a cab bringing you back. As soon as you say you want to go across the bridge to Long Island, they run off! You can pretty much forget about Yellow Cabs, they're just busy enough with the local fare. We were able to finally get a regular cab to take us back after some negotiation. Also, beware of night club on the roof on Wednesday, Friday and Saturday nights. If you're taking your vehicle out of the hotel parking for the evening on those nights, you may lose your spot when you're back later at night and may need to rely on valet. On a positive note, the staff were friendly and if you can live with the inconvenience of location during your stay in NYC, you would probably save some money staying at this hotel. Just don't expect the ambiance and atmosphere that the pictures would lead you to believe. Read more

This hotel was a good value. The location was convenient to get to NYC because of the shuttle and subway, but when coming back from the city you either had to walk 9 blocks through a poor neighborhood or call and wait for the shuttle. I never felt like I was unsafe, but I kept my eyes open.

Free transfer service on the hour to subway stops nearby is a nice touch for returning to the hotel when its dark. Only 2 negative points which must be brought up....Currently there is building site next door to the hotel with noise starting around 7.00am!!! with the noise piercing around the whole block! Vi boede 5 nætter på Ravel Hotel foråret 2013. Personalets venlighed, udsigten fra tagterrassen og designbadeværelset med lækre produkter var meget fint og over forventning. Værelset var fint og sengene gode, men dynerne havde vist været vasket mange gange så fyldet var så ujævnt og tyndt at jeg fik halsbetændelse. Vi faldt straks for beskrivelsen og billederne på hjemmeside. Udsigten ind over Manhatten så fantastisk ud og lige hvad vi ønskede. Afstanden til Centrum af Manhatten var også passende. Det hele så godt ud, lige til vi ankom. Omgivelserne var ikke noget vi havde lyst til at begive os ud i til fods. Da vi fik vores værelse var sengen redt, men der lå […] madrester og glassene på vasken havde tandpastarester på kanten. Vi fik et nyt værelse. Her var udsigten lige ind i en ruin over for. En engan smuk bygning, men nu en gammel ruin med træplader for vinduerne. Der var absolut ingen skyline udsigt. Det 3. værelse vi fik var slet ikke gjort rent. Sengetøj lå på gulvet m.m. Denne gang var jeg så helig at rende på chefen, som jeg bad komme med op på værelset, for nu gad vi ikke mere. Vi fik tilbudt det første værelse vi så, hvis vi ville vente en time, så de kunne få det gjort rent. Det ville vi ikke, vi havde efterhånden ventet længe nok. Så fik vi et endet værelse og det var ok. Da vi kom retur fra byen var der fest på taget af hotellet. ( hotellets restaurant) og larmen var voldsom. Sådan er det hver weeken, kunne vi forstå på en taxachauffør. Næste morgen, da vi skulle vi have morgenmad, lå der cigaretskodder på gulvet og i potteplanterne. Om aftenen ville vi købe et par flasker vand vi kunne tage med på værelset. Automaten var tom og der gik næsten 2 dage efter vi havde påpeget det inden der igen kunne købes vand på hotellet. Serviço de shuttle funciona pontualmente. Mas com uma caminhada de cerca de 10/15 minutos temos as estações de metrô. Embora a região do hotel seja industrial, […] encontramos lugares, de baixo custo, para tomar café da manhã de mais sustância, pois no Hotel só tem um auto-serviço com café, leite, chás, que já tira o jejum, para o dia árduo de passeio por Manhattan. Atendeu nossas expectativas. De negativo, gostaríamos de ter jantado no hotel apreciando a vista iluminada de Manhattan, mas o hotel usa esse espaço como locação para festas, e em todas as 5 noites que estivemos no hotel não tivemos o hotel livre. Ficamos no 2o. andar, nenhum barulho nos incomodou. Tivemos oportunidade, com isso, de conviver/observar costumes dos moradores locais, que comemoram datas especiais nos salões do hotel. Isso não nos atrapalhou em nada ao tramitar por corredores ou elevadores de uso compartilhado. Eu e meus filhos voltaríamos ao Hotel, além do que economizamos. I researched the cost / benefit. But with a walk of about 10-15 minutes we have subway stations. Although the hotel region is industry, we find places, low cost, to eat breakfast more substance such as the Hotel is only a self-service with coffee, milk, teas, which already takes the fast, hard day for walking through Manhattan. Met our expectations. Negative, we would like to have dinner at the hotel enjoying the view of Manhattan lit, but the hotel uses such as rental space for parties, and all five nights we were at the hotel did not have that space. hôtel très beau design, chambres spacieuses, pris super pdj en térasse avec vue imprenable sur la ville et Queensborough bridge, ouverture des chambres par clé electronique pas super, mais ce qui n'est vraiment pas top c'est sa situation...pas d'accès facile surtout pour retourner à l'hôtel.En plus de nuit quartier pas très fréquentable!!!
