"Summer Wine Restaurant was Deplorable"
The Hotel overall was just fine except their restaurant called Summer Wine was deplorable. It was a weekend and the hotel was full of kids in a soccer tournament, so no problem there as in today's world that is what you usually get at decent hotels on weekends. The restaurant called Summer Wine was one of the worst experiences I have ever had in a hotel […] restaurant. I have traveled over 30 years on business and never had service this bad. From the rude Hostess to the seating lady ( why would you need a seating lady? who didn't even give out menus) To the slow incompetent waiter who brought us someone elses' breakfast and we had to ask for Ketchup 3 times. Sure they were busy , but it is a hotel with 300 rooms so they should know what there traffic will be . Besides to busy, is that not what the Marriott chain wants so they can make money? "Great Hotel at Great Price for Everyone"
Clean and up to date with very comfortable beds to sleep in after a long day of being a Boston tourist. Breakfast buffet was the best we've seen, and all of the staff was extremely cordial and helpful. We stayed on the Concierge floor and none of the staff told us of its perks in the Concierge Lounge until our very last day, which of course we wish […] had been told to us at the beginning of our stay. "Not as close to the city as it seems"
With traffic, it took up to an hour to get back from Boston, which I wish I had known before planning a weekend trip. Online, it appears to be less than a half hour, but I don't think we made it in less than 40 minutes, even on the weekend. It's also not close to trains so you basically have to drive if you want to go into Boston (or take the hotel […] shuttle to the mall to catch a bus to the train station to take the train into the city, where you'd likely need a cab to your final destination). The hotel was nice, and the service was pretty good, but the double rooms are VERY small. One Major complaint is we ordered a roll-away bed when we booked with them and we got a blow up mattress. when we got there they said the bed would be there, but it wasn't and we had to wait until about 11pm to get anything.
