Stayed 4 nights. Good location for what we needed. Staff friendly. Breakfast was on par with other hotel breakfasts. The room must have not been used for awhile. It had a stale air smell. When the air conditioner was turned on it had a moldy smell for the first 10 minutes. Large cracks in the bath tub floor (had to make sure you did not touch them). "Stinky! Pictures are misleading!"
Do not book this place. Yes, I realize there aren't many choices in Carthage, MO. Please trust me, the pictures you see on the website are not pictures of this hotel...at all! It is stinky and dirty. "Clean but worn down"
Rooms were clean but a bit worn. Mattresses are OK, carpet is fraying, plumbing drips and water pressure is low. I had a non-smoking room but once you stepped out into the hallway and common areas the smell of smoke seemed ingrained in the facility. I felt as if I picked up the scent when I returned to my room. "Fair for the cost"
The hotel is slightly out of town but there are some shops, a liquor store and supermarket close by. The room was clean, reasonably comfortable and a good breakfast was offered.
