Although it is one of Colorado’s largest cities, Aurora is best known as a Denver suburb. This area includes Stapleton, Denver’s former airport. Stapleton has been redeveloped into an urban neighborhood with a traditional Main Street, shops, and a farmer’s market. Aurora’s other highlights include Buckley Air Force Base and the Plains Conservation Center, an 1,100-acre plant and wildlife preserve.

"Was looking for more"
Restaurant was closed for repairs, looks like they had a banquet there but were still in the process of removing it in the back lobby. Took them most of the night. Bar was serving full menu of the restaurant. We went out to eat. Difficult place to get into and out of as they are just off a clover leaf exit. Tried to take a bath but it wouldn't hold […] the water. Then was told that, as in most circumstances, they put a hold on your CC for incidentals. I had a water in the room. Fine I was charged for that then they also charged me for something and spoke with Guest relations. They were quick to take care of the issue. But overall, I do not think I would go back. Service from Front desk to diner was horrible. Rushed and lack of interest in the guest.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Bad"
The room had an awful smell. I wonder why the handicap room was assigned to me. Probably this room was not used for a long time.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Used to be nice, but disappointed"
My most recent stay at the Red Lion was rather disappointing. It had been 3 years since my last stay in the hotel, and my past experiences have always been comfortable and enjoyable. The rooms are still comfortable and clean, but they are really starting to really show their age. The staff was friendly enough, but the service was slow. When I arrived […] it took almost 30 minutes to check-in. The first night upon returning to the hotel, my key card wouldn't work. I had to return to the front desk 3 times that night to have them reprogram the key. Each time I had to wait in line for at least 10 minutes and then wait another 5 for the desk clerk to figure out what to do. Finally, they had to send Security with me to my room to reset the lock on the door. The same thing happened on night 2. Upon checkout, I received a bill for bottled water that I never drank. It took another 30 minutes at the front desk for them to remove the charge. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"RUN. RUN FAR AWAY."
At 5:10 AM on my first morning at this hotel, awakened by a "wake up call" that I never placed. When I complained to the front desk, never received a "We're sorry," they were too concerned with denying that it happened and falling all over themselves not to shoulder responsibility. The desk chair smelled of feces. I had to use several towels to cover […] up the stench. No maid service for the second day of my stay. Room was very cramped and small. Television only received analog stations. Internet was about the speed of dial-up. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Red Lion old buiding"
It is a Red Lion that attracks ppl only from their name for sure, it was impossible to get to do not use your GPS you can see it clearly for it is a huge building, another thing is it was given a makeover from amatuers. The place was run down and tried to make new again, uggggg. The maids were very friendly and all of the staff.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Not For Me Hotel"

"dissapointed"
Need the gm to spend a night in room 300. needs maintenance, some attention to detail never againGenuine Expedia guest review
Older hotel and is a little worn. Pleasant and helpful staff. We were originally put in an uncleaned room then had to move to a different tower. Maid service is marginal. Hotel is conveniently located within walking distance of the light rail and Cherry Creek reservoir walking path.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Quieter options are surely found"
Overnight stay in Feb. 2012 was very noisy, not so much from I-225 nearby, but from the heat kicking in all night (set @72).Genuine Expedia guest review
"Red Lion-hard to access, restaurant closed"
Very hard to get to from the Interstate. Restaurant was closed-no food at 7 pm. Rooms and elevator shop worn-needs renovationGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Needs an upgrade"
My experience was not great. First I was sent to a double room when I reserved a king bed. My TV was unplugged and the internet use was confusing as they had a box to connect but then after calling the front desk was informed that the hotel was all wifi. Just not a good way to start a stay after getting to the hotel late and being extremely tired. The […] room has a Sleep Number bed which did not work. The hotel just needs an upgrade in the rooms and lobby area. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Horrible service."
Would not recommend. Lobby is nice, but once we began making our way to our room, I noticed the walls were in dire need of a paint job. The carpet was torn, and once we got to our room, nothing worked. Toilet did not flush, television and internet did not work. Once we contacted to front desk to express our displeasure, we were told, "It's like that […] for everybody else." No effort was made to fix the problems I was experiencing. No appologies, nothing. You are basically paying for a bed. I would recommend spending less money and getting better service. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Red Lion Aurora"
Nice enough room, but the control for the sleep number bed was broken so I wasn't able to take advantage of that "amenity". Overall the rooms and service are not worth what they charge for the room.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Access Inpossible"
could not find the access to hotel from major roads....false alarm fire alarm...constant buzzingGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Lobby is dark and gloomy. Fire alarm went off by mistake at 5:00 AM and compelled us to exit the building. The heat in my room was very noisy - woke me up every time it came on. The toilet did not flush.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice Hotel falling to ruin"
This could have been a nice hotel in a good location. Easy access to Denver freeways and close to a reservoir & park. We had to change rooms due to the noise and ill repair of air conditioner. The new room had a running toilet and leaking sink. I could tell the care and management of the hotel was suffering. Not enough help. The cleaniness and up keep […] of the hotel left a bad feeling for Red Lion. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Red Lion Inn-South East Aurora, CO"
In the past this has been a wonderful hotel for my people. This last stay was toally unsatisfactory in that the restaurant only serves breakfast, there is only a vending machine and there is no gift shop for incidentals. In a hotel this size and location, these amenities are a necessity. There is nothing close in the way of restaurants or coffee shops. […] AND there is no coffee in the rooms.
