The Mediterranean and Moorish-style Hyatt Regency Coral Gables stands 14-stories tall in Coral Gables, Fla. "Perfect for visiting University of Miami"
The hotel itself was beautiful. Most staff were helpful, maybe one exception. The pool was lovely too. Only issue we had was that we were on an upper floor, and it happened to be raining at night, and it sounded like the roof was going to cave in from the rain. The location is unbeatable if you want to stay in Coral Gables! The stay was decent. People were nice. A few incidents during my stay that led to average rating - Laundary ( inspite of promises of same day service and a high price)was not returned back the same day. Almost at he end of my 10 day stay at the hotel I found a piece of rotten Pizza (from […] previous guests I believe) behind one of the cabinets which is disgusting. And inspite of repeated request they would not place a breakfast menu in my room so I had to call for it every single day. This hotel was superb in all categories but I gave it a 4 for comfort of the room and for overall rating because I was disappointed that our room did not come with a refrigerator. "Messy bathroom and no dinner"
The bathroom floor was covered with black hair, disgusting. After a long flight from Europe, we would have liked to have a light dinner at the hotel. That was not possible, even though it was not very late (8 p.m.). The restaurant was closed. The only place to go was the bar with a noisy bunch of people and an even noisier TV. On the positive side was […] the breakfast. Normally, we prefer buffet breakfast, because you can eat what you want and it is faster. Here, you had to order from a menu, but the food was good. When I checked out, I mentioned the bathroom mess. The person working at reception apologized and let me have the valet parking ($ 22.-) for free. The Hyatt Coral Gables is located in the heart of the Coral Gables shopping area. Miracle Mile is 3 blocks away and an easy walk. Downtown, and the Miami Airport are very close too. The hotel is beautiful and well maintained. The pool on the 5th floor is quite nice (complete with snacks and a bar). Take note that it seemed to be populated with families, […] so it might not be the place for a romantic poolside date. My only complaints (which seem to agree with many reviews) are that the in room internet is not free and the self parking, while convienient, is not a bargain. We loved the Hotel and the Staff however our bed sheets were not fitted on the bottom sheet and it was TO SHORT leaving the sheets crunched up all night and the mattress pad exposed. We had to keep getting up (4 times) throughout the night to pull the bottom sheet back down. Also we asked for a quiet room as we had an extreamly long day. They gave us […] a room on the 5th floor right next to the pool door and all evening and early morning the door kept opening and slamming closed with families running back and fourth. Room and hotel are fine. There is no adequate lighting by the closet or toilet area. The bathroom only has one hanging hook for towels & clothes and it is located by the toilet instead of near the shower. They should install towel bars, rings or hooks for clothes & towel. Most hotels of this caliber already offer free wi-fi ...$9.99 a day. I just used […] my IPad. Also the $16/day parking charge is not cool either. I rather park in the City parking a block away for $12 - if you get the car out early before 8am its free. I think the public parking is staffed from 8am to 12 midnight. Quiet hotel 3 blocks south of Miracle Mile in Coral gables. We went for our daughter's graduation. Hotel was clean and comfortable. Pool was good. I recently stayed at this Hyatt because most of the other hotels were sold out due to graduation services at UM where my daughter goes to school. I found the hotel very clean and comfortable and a good location to nearby shops and good restaurants, It is in walking distance to Miracle Mile ( only a few blocks ) and it was nice to have other options […] for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The pool area was nice, but not really large and the somewhat of a self-serve location. Get your own towel, get your own drink from the bar ( if it;s even open) I found the whole hotel somewhat self serve.. Only 1 computer to use for checking email or printing boarding pass. I never even saw a coffee center to grab a cup of coffee in the morning without going to the restaurant and dropping 20 bucks on breakfast. We were initially put in a room with two double beds for four grown people. Two adults would not have fit in one bed. I had an 17 and 14 year old with me as well. We were upgraded to room with King bed, pull out sofa and roll away. No exhaust fan in bathroom so for 4 people to shower, it was difficult.
