"decent stay for the money"
For the most part the room was an acceptable place to sleep after a night of sight seeing and partying. There are a few rather off-putting things that I encountered, though. First off, there seemed to always be quite a bit of noise coming from surrounding rooms as well as outside of the room (the walls are rather thin, so you hear just about every whining […] child, etc.). Secondly, (and I'm not quite sure why this is), 6 out of my 9 nights at the hotel the police were parked out front responding to a call, taking reports from guests, etc, which doesn't really make you feel all that safe. Lastly, on the morning I woke up to check out, I was greeted by a roach in my bed, which seriously drops the rating of the room's cleanliness. When I arrived the front desk girl did not assist me kindly. The room conditions are bad, specially the bathroom. The room has not closet and the parking lot is very small. Parking for check-in is almost non-existant. Grab & Go breakfast is not as described. TV channel card was totally wrong. No amenities other than face & bath soap. Kitchenette was a nice touch - complete w/ glasses, plates, bowls & silverware for 2. Towels were also for only 2. It was convenient for the reason we were staying. The staff was so helpful, they were overbooked, but let me check in early, and when the air conditioner in the room wasn't working, they allowed me to change rooms. "Good Cheap Hotel for Ft. Lauderdale"
I stay at this hotel often. By often I mean at least 4 days a month. This is an extended stay so you will get neighbors that do contract work such as programmers, construction workers, truck drivera, and such. So expect some rough although generally good characters. This is Ft. Lauderdale so you may see in the surrounding areas a bit of trash people. […] So lock your door, park your car in the well lit parking, and take your valuables with you at all time. This is true of all of Ft. Lauderdale so its not a mark against this hotel. Generally speaking good hotel for single long term travelers or short term family trips. Oh my last stay I did find one issue. The rooms all have kitchens and kitchenware for your use. I decided to stay in this time instead of eating at the nearby restaurants. The plates provided in the kitchen cabinet all had hair on them (yuck). I can't even imagine how that happened being in a cabinet. Anyhow the 7/11 across the street had paper plates. "Close to the trash of society"
I can't fault this hotel when it comes to the room St this pricepoint. The room was no smoking but was obviously a smoking room in the past. The room was clean with the minor wear and tear you would find in a place a few years old. For example the edges of the bathroom mirror was losing its silver backing, minor rust on steel door jambs, and minor water […] damage near bathtub base. The problem is that the hotel is near a county stockade and a juvenile detention center. Therefore at this price plus the number of itinerant workers also staying here you may get to see some interesting events. Events like 3 cop cars and a fire rescue unit at 1 AM. But lets face it this is FT Lauderdale. The neighborhood may look nice but it's full of trash. Good hotel for the price and a couple days stay. You may want to bring your conceal carry piece. I liked this place because it is quiet with no children or pool or tacky breakfast. I like making my own breakfast when I am ready. Most of the guests are single business people or the like. It seemed to be an all adult property. No screaming children. here are the good things: no breakfast, no pool, no children, no tourists, quiet, full size fridge, […] nice shower head and faucets, firm mattress. Decent cable channels. adequate parking, 7-Eleven right across the street. nice view of trees from 3rd floor room in the back. staff was pleasant when I went to front desk to change towels and linens. the not so good things: nonsmoking room still smelled like cigarettes. bedspread had hole in it. Mattress pad was ripped. carpeting was dirty. you could hear freeway noise. microwave did not have a tray in it so popcorn did not pop properly. curtains were hard to close.
