"Worst hotel stay in years"
The staff needs to learn that a smile alone does not a good customer service experience make. When my key card was shut off, each day of my stay, requiring me to go downstairs with all my stuff and back up to my room a second time, EACH day, all I received was a smile and "here you go," when they handed me the refreshed key card. No apology for the […] inconvenience, not attempt to resolve the problem. Also, no one bothered to make up my room, so I had to actually request housekeeping services to which they smiled and said, "We'll take care of it!" No apology for the fact that it wasn't already done. The room looked clean on the surface, but the edges of the carpet had not been vacuumed in so long that they were white with dust and lint. There were hand prints on the mirrors and surfaces of all the furniture. There was even mildew growing on the shower head. The bed was like sleeping on a brick, and the pillows were old and lumpy. "Gouging Customers"
The Super 8 Helena charged me an extra "TP" fee before letting me check in. The desk clerk said that Hotels.com would not add the local tax to its list of charges, so I had to shell out more money. "non-smoking room in name only"
My non-smoking room and as marked on door smelled like chain smokers had just left. Yuck. Will not stay here again. Smoking banned for quite awhile yet room smells awful which makes me wonder about cleaning. "Serves its purpose and a bit more"
This hotel is conveniently located near highway entrances/exits. It serves a good breakfast (a hot breakfast) in a comfortable eating area. There's plenty of parking. One of the better restaurants in Helena is located right next to the hotel; it has a lounge and a dining area. There's an Albertson's within walking distance, as well as fast food options. The […] hotel offers free Wi-Fi, too. I even did a load of laundry in the laundry room (only 1.00 a load to wash and dry). The front desk woman was a bit quiet, but she was helpful. When I asked her if there was a vitamin store in town, she directed me to to a really good natural food store. The lobby features a vending machine with some microwavable foods, and they provide a microwave, too. I usually stay at the Red Lion when I'm in Helena. It was full, so I made my reservations here. "Ok for the price"
Its an ok hotel for the price but know its not nice. The walls are super thin and you hear everything. I finally got a fan so I could drown out the noise. I was there for a week and I realized after the first morning the breakfast is a joke so that wasn't cool as I picked this because I was trying to save money on meals.
