"Pet friendly under 20 lbs."
Chose this hotel because it was listed as pet friendly. Glad I had small dogs, because dogs over 20 or 25 lbs weren't allowed. Our bedspread had dried blood on it as did the bed skirt. It met the need, but I wouldn't stay there again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

The bed room was ok for the price the doors paint was falling off the curtains we had to put a blanket in front of cause u could see through the bottom into the room and when we got there front desk person had a dog jumping all over the place barking and jumping on the counters in our face. "It Wasn't Cheap But Bad"
The refrig didn't work and the toilet leaked. The towels and wash cloths were old and had holes in them. The desk person was hard to understand and to get information from them. There were many signs of wear, the exhaust fan didn't work in the bathroom and the rooms had holes in the wall. There was not sufficient parking around the hotel for the number […] of rooms. "Not worth using this motel."
The first room they put me in had a broken safety latch and when I tried to call the front desk to express my concern, the phone did not work. Convenient location to downtown Helen. Courteous staff. Low noise. Rooms are showing their age. The fiberglass wall in the shower was leaning in towards the tub very badly. "Not Happy"
We reserved a non smoking room, when we checked in the room took your breath away from the cigarette smoke in the room. We were given something called smoke mask to spray in the room. Seemed odd that they had several bottles at the front desk. Maybe there are no non smoking rooms. When we opened the fridge there was a hair in the bottom stuck in something […] red. Service was fine, staff was very nice. Unfortunately, the room did not meet par. One of the beds had a torn sheet. The tv remote didn't work well. Worst of all was the free continental breakfast. I took a bite out of the bagel & cream cheese, both were gross, and the cream cheese tasted expired. The muffins were the same, and the coffee was horrible. "Econo Lodge Helen - Caveat Emptor"
We checked into the hotel and no issues. Then, when we went to bed, my daughter said "This bed smells like urine". Sure enough, the mattress had a urine smell that had transferred to the linens/mattress and the blanket she had brought. When my sister and I got into our room immediately there where flies everywhere. Then, me owning a pest control company, did a thorough check of the bed for bed bugs. Did not find any, however found a small black beetle crawling on my pillow. I pulled the top blanket back further to a big brown spider making its way out from under the covers. I then […] went to the bathroom to check it out and they had a bad problem with drain flies due to poor sanitation.I went to the front desk and they quickly moved us to another room upstairs. This room was much better. The walls are paper thin and dont get a room by the pool. The kids will keep you up all night as they did us. I would not stay here again. "Cheap in Helen"
Typical bargain basement occomadations with no real complaints. The room had a fresh coat of paint. The bathroom towel rack was loose on one side and could have been fixed with a small allen wrench. Commode seat was loose and needed tightened up. One bedside lamp was inoperable and without a bulb. Had two double beds and both were equally uncomfortable […] (hard and lumpy). The room, sheets and towels were clean and did not stink. It was fairly quiet since this motel is away from the main downtown area. The breakfast items provided were the typical cheap instant oatmeal, juice, pastries, cereal, etc. Coffee was not great. Staff was very friendly. Room would only be worth about $30 if it wasn't located in such a tourist type town. Next time I'll spend an extra 20-30 bucks and get a better room. They are all overpriced in Helen for what you get. If you have to have a cheap place to stay you can't expect much more. Pool was covered up as expected. A few minutes of work by a good handy man would have fixed the loose and broken items (lamp, towel rack and toilet seat). I'd throw away a bunch of the cheap breakfast items and get a waffle iron.
