Beautiful resort. The second time we stayed there. Food at the hotel restaurant is consistently good and the food at the pool restaurant has improved since our last visit. The hotel is the perfect location for a romantic getaway or a family vacation. The free shuttle to and from the airport was a big convenience and they will even take you to the airport to go pick up a rental car if you decide not to rent from the on-site Enterprise location. You really won't need a car, although there are tons of great things to see […] and do around the island. The beach out front is perfect for kids or those who just want to splash around, and there are several great restaurants within walking distance. Everything and Everyone was nice. My only concern was the $24.99 charge for some kind of resort package which I never asked for and never used, but was charged for. It was added to the welcome package without telling me there was an additional charge for it.

Very nice place. Love the view from our room and the sound of the surf. The grounds are lovely and wait staff at the bar were very friendly and efficient. Enjoyed the koi and nene in the water feature area.

Excellent location with easy access to visit either south or north shores. Magnificent vista of the Bay from almost anywhere in the resort. Ocean & Bay great for SUP, surf and bodyboard but no reef for snorkeling. Beach and pool were fantastic. Hotel and room super clean and well maintained, with very pleasant staff. Manucured gardens, superb koi fish […] pond with plenty wild animals enjoying the place. Great selection of restaurants inside and few minutes walk away from the resort, recommend in particular Duke restaurant. Beautiful very well kept hotel. Staff was very friendly and helpful always ready to give directions to anywhere on the island. The hotel concierge, Toshiko, was very helpful. Kukui's at pool side is a great place to eat breakfast, if you are willing to pay the price. The hostess, Gina was very friendly and helpful explaining the menu. Duke's is just […] down the walkway and a great place to go for dinner. For dessert order the Hula pie, you won't be sorry. Be sure you make reservations. We chose to stay here for our first night on Kauai and it was perfect. The quality definitely matches the price. Highly recommend. Great place to relax and get away from it all. The one downfall would be that you get too comfortable at the resort and miss out on all that Kauai has to offer.

We loved all of the natural beauty surrounding the hotel (the flowers, trees). The kids really enjoyed the pool which is a very good sized pool. Our room had an extraordinary view from the balcony where you could see the pool and ocean. The beach at the hotel is very nice with one of the calmest waters in the area which is ideal for children.

My husband and I went here on our honeymoon over Christmas. What a find! I literally almost cried when we walked into the hotel for the first time. Starting with a beautiful tree-lined drive, free parking, and ending with a fantastic view from the room. There is an incredible koi fish pond that is fun even for grown-ups to look at. The human swimming […] pool itself is AMAZING! Donut-shaped, with real palm trees and chairs in the middle island, and spraying fountains. There were several hot tubs around the perimeter of the pool (watch out for the middle one - the only reason it's always empty is because you have to get back in the pool in order to get out! Brrrr!) which was nearly always empty despite being peak travel season. The whole resort environment was really relaxed. The in-house restaurant had great food, highly recommend their Christmas buffet, and the nearby Duke's restaurant was also delicious! Try ordering La Piña and drinking out of a whole carved out pineapple! The staff service was phenomenal. My only complaint here was that they did not respect the rule that "hanging towels means do not replace." I try to be a serious environmentalist, so this irked me some...but hey, if an excess of clean towels is my biggest complaint, then you can tell what kind of place this was. The rooms themselves were comfortable and well-maintained, with coffee pot, refrigerator, and awesome pillows. I could go on about this place. If I ever go back to Kauai, I would love to stay here. We recently stayed here just a few days before Christmas and I must say what a beautiful resort. For starters, the pool view we booked was sold out so they upgraded us to an ocean front at no charge. Kalapaki beach is no special gem but it was really nice. The waves kept coming in, not big but consistent. It is a great place for beginning surfing or […] boogie boarding. The pool is gorgeous but a bit chilly. The front desk said that the heating pump went out but they were in the middle of fixing it. My 1 little ones stayed in the kiddie pool with the slide. They have 5 hot tubs all different temps so you can fin just the right one. Breakfast buffet was really nice. Omelettes made to order fresh fruit juices and lots o other fresh food. There was even a dessert bar with fresh tropical cakes. Right next door is Dukes restaurant. Fantastic place to dine. Every entree comes with a salad bar. Fresh Cesar fruit and about 30 other things. I highly recommend this resort. Such a beautiful place to spend some quiet relaxing time. Read more

It was never too crowded to find a lounge chair by the pool - not too many young kids, wonderful pool/beach chairs and towels. This Mariott Beach and Resort was a great place to stay. The pool is huge and beautiful with the beach right next to it. The resort is pretty big, but it didn't seem like there was a lot of people there when we were there (Sept). One thing to note is that the parking fee is included in with the resort fee. The best place to stay in Kauai for a worry free holiday. The atmosphere is low key, and the proximity of the pool to the beach just can't be beat. Many rooms have gorgeous views and the staff is pleasant but not intrusive. The location just south of the airport might make you concerned about noise from air traffic but it's amazingly quiet. The only […] air traffic you hear is the helicopter tour helos that fly over the hotel on their way south. The location is also great for reaching other parts of the island. It's a short drive south to Poipu, though a longer (but enjoyable) drive to the North Shore (Princeville) and really not that far to the West Side. The beach is usually uncrowded and always clean. Because Kalapaki Beach (the hotel beach) is on protected Nawiliwili Bay the surf is family friendly and very mild. Read more

Great location if you plan to drive around the island and sight see. There is a direct entrance to the resort from Lihue airport and a complimentary airport shuttle runs frequently. Grounds were beautifully maintained. Pool is large and there are multiple hot tubs so you have personal space. Everything was fabulous except they kept only leaving towels for 1 when both my husband and I were checked in. We also had to ask the second night for more shampoo and conditioner and lotion.
