We didn't really know what to expect at the hotel or Dead Wood for that matter. But we upgraded to a suite, because we stayed 3 nights. The Holiday Inn Express in Deadwood, SD was very nice. It is right downtown in the historic area with the restaurants and casinos so everything is in walking distance. The room includes free parking at a nearby lot and easy access curbside for checking in and dropping off luggage in room. Very friendly front desk staff. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Holiday Inn Express in Deadwood SD. We stayed for 3 nights. I original room was an interior room with no windows to the outside. Great place to stay in deadwood, right on the main street, with everything close by. The only problem was the parking, it is two blocks away in a parkade so a bit of a hassle to load and unload luggage, but worth it to be right on the main street.
