"Off site convention"
Nice hotel. I had little interaction with hotel staff except to complain about noisy guest in adjacent room at 11 pm they said they would send security to check and noise abated about an hour later 12 pm. "Everything you need in one place"
We had stayed at this hotel once before and absolutely loved it. We then planned consecutive nights with two rooms and brought family to celebrate an event, but then found out there was a hockey tournament the entire time we were there. The drunken chaperones and kids running wild for two days was not the best; we were unable to use the pool, hot tub, […] etc. and kids were bouncing balls off of our sliding glass doors in the corridor, etc. We will know to ask about group conferences the next time! "Ok but not great"
We have stayed at Doubletree's before so we knew what to expect in terms of room comfort, which is very good at this hotel although the room is a bit small. We stayed 4 nights. Bed was very comfortable, a/c unit working properly and pretty silent, decor, comfort and cleanliness excellent. Rest of hotel - carpet seemed dirty. Wall Street Journal was […] provided - great. Elevator was not working and under repair during 2 of the days - not too inconvenient and hey - things happen. What was most disappointing was no free WIFI - room is advertised as internet access, but in order to get internet in room cost is $10/day. That and the immediate location (very busy intersections, streets and commercial), but mostly the no internet will keep this Doubletree off our list for our next trip to Rocheter area. We stayed at a not too pleasant hotel night before our arrival and even that place had free WiFi - we were told free WiFi at Doubletree was reserved for their "platinum" guests. In this day and age, free WiFi should be available at most places and is definitely a plus in our estimation. "Disappointed.."
The hotel staff were very nice, but the room looked dirty, beds were very uncomfortable. We had to ask for replacement towels because our replenished ones were wet, then they brought us new ones and they were still wet. Only one elevator worked. "Business Travler"
The hotel was def. looks a bit outdated, several staines on the carpet and curtains. The fact that my room did not have any windows was a bit odd, the balcony was overlooking the atrium. However, it's not bad for a one night stay. The staff however was very friendly.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Stay away from the rooms above the bar"
THe hotel was very nice, however, we were in room 410 and it was above the bar area. The return grille in the room up on the wall transferred everybodies conversations from the bar like they were standing in our room...My daughter went and slept in the tub because when I called the front desk I was told that there was nothing they could do.. I called […] around midnight and he said the bar would close by 2 am. THe noise wasn't coming from the doors, walls or glass, it was coming thru the vent and this is a definite design flaw. I cant believe we are the first to complain. THe front desk should have offered to move us but instead he put me on hold for sometime and I finally hung up and slept with pillow over my head. We booked a non-smoking room thru Hotels.com . We arrived late (but called ahead to confirm for late arrival). Service was prompt and polite. Our room, however, was a smoking room. I have requested to change my room 2 times for my 1 night stay. 1st time was because the room was still in some kind of work. Tools & dust were in the middle of the room when we got in.
