"Not very sanitary..."
My husband and I spent the weekend in Kennebunk to attend a celebration for our good friend. At first we were quite pleased with the aesthetics of the hotel and our room. Everything seemed so lovely. After a long, wonderful day, we were eager to come back and relax in the jacuzzi before heading off to bed. However once we settled in for the night we […] got quite a surprise. We found bugs crawling in the ceiling light fixture and around it on the ceiling. My husband had to squish them with a towel. In the bathroom we found dead bugs in the ceiling light fixture and large dust clumps all over the vent fan. When we pulled back the bed spread we found what appeared to be genital hair. Both of us were rather disgusted, but since we got back after 11pm we knew we wouldn't find another hotel that would take us, so we braved the uncomfortable night on top of the covers. In addition to the other things we saw, I can honestly say that this is the first hotel we've stayed in where a king bed did not have kings pillows. We had what looked like half of a standard pillow that was so hard it made our necks sore after laying down for an hour. My husband ended up sleeping without one and I got very little sleep using the softest one I could find. I agree the other reviewers who did not like the location. We found it very hard getting in and out of the driveway there because it is so close to the light at the intersection. Bottom line, I would find another place to stay. Response by Kings Port Inn Our mission is to provide clean, quality accommodations within walking distance to town. When issues arise, we take them seriously and work to correct our shortcomings to avoid any problems from repeating. We have staff available to address any problems, even after the desk closes. We wish that these guests had allowed us this opportunity by calling the night attendant. We believe that we could have corrected the issues or found another room that these guests would have felt more comfortable in. Even though we were not made aware of any problems until the guest was checking out, the Manager contacted the guest and worked to arrive at an acceptable resolution, and while the guest said that he was satisfied and happy with the outcome, he posted this review anyway.
"Don't stay here"
My wife and I took an 8 day trip to coastal Maine. We stayed at 6 B & B's. This was our least favorite. Awful location, right at the corner of a busy intersection of 2 two-lane highways. Our room was not in the main house. If felt more like a motel. The room was large, but not particularly nice or clean. We could easily hear our neighbors upstairs. […] Great view of the parking lot. The woman working the desk was unfriendly and unhelpful. I honestly cannot remember the food at breakfast, so it was probably OK but nothing to write home about. Don't stay here.
