Holiday Motel Bend

Clearly several rooms had already been remodeled, but ours was in need. The odd full wall heater didn't finally warm the room until the middle of the night. Most frustrating was the construction going on in the room next to ours until 7:00 at night. We had hoped to sneak a nap after an active day, but the banging, drilling, & other construction noises […] ensured that didn't happen. the hotel wasn't full & we were left to wonder if that was our punishment for the cheap price we got for our room. went to this hotel based on price and other's reviews. the desk mgr was nice, but this place seemed to be on the poor side of town. the parking was all one direction with no way to get out but reverse - luckily there were not too many cars there. The TV was nice, appeared new but, there were bugs in the light fixtures, and purple makeup on a towel (not […] ours!) A large window faced the back of the motel, and we just did not feel real safe. There was no security latch on the door - we felt the need to place a chair under the doorknob for security. The entryway was large - for what purpose - would have been a nice area for table/chairs, but appeared to be a former laundry room with built in counters. the bedroom area was small, and the bathroom door wouldnt open all the way due to bumping into a bed. the motel was old and could use a facelift. The people in the room next to me woke me @ 2am, and proceeded to talk to each other and on cell phone outside my window. I left to get on my way @ 3;30am.......the room was clean,and very basic.......I wouldn't stay again, but it really wasn't the hotel's fault I have bad feels......I just not the type of person to wake them up to get other guest to […] be quiet, and I was a woman traveling alone....I wasn't about to cause a problem and complain on my own @ 2am. I picked this place because it received a decent rating for an inexpensive hotel. Unfortunately, it was one of the worst hotels/motels I've ever stayed in. I'm a traveling sales rep, so I've stayed at a lot of places. It smelled bad and it was not well maintained. On one of their signs it says "Recently Renovated" rooms, but mine sure wasn't. If you're looking for a place to crash one night, this might be ok for you. We didn't expect too much for the price.... The service was friendly and the location is pretty good. However, the comforter and pillows smelled old, I didn't use them! There were used socks laying in the room from the people staying there before us. Also there was no counter […] space anywhere in the bathroom and there were a lot of stains everywhere - such as in the bathtub, the walls, the mirror was broken on one corner.... Overall you could tell they did some small upgrades but it wasn't all that great. There's a patch of grass, outgrown, full of weeds and garbage. A broken fence lead to a trailer park right next door. At night we had to open the door all the way because it got so hot in the room, I think the fan didn't work or something. I don't want to make it sound Like this place is impossible to stay at, but I would have wanted the previous ratings to reflect the reality of the hotel a little bit more. Although the room clearly states that it's non-smoking, it stunk to the point we could taste the old stale flavor of tobacco by just breathing in the room.

Really a dismal hotel, run down furniture, shower didn't work, dark, and even tho', it was a non-smoking room, it stank of smoke. Price was too high for quality.
