Although the cost of the room for the night was the cheapest around...you get what you pay for. Husband very glad he came with my daughter and I on her soccer trip because the location is not family friendly...more of a truck stop with the perk of a shower and a bed to sleep in. The hotel is about what you would expect for the price, it has been somewhat updated so that was nice. We had a king size bed with a small sofa in the room and were happy to find a small refrigerator & microwave. Roaches in the first room, "meth" smell in the second room, no wake up call, no extra pillow (which was needed for a medical condition), pool looked more like a lake, when asked about why some of these conditions existed I was told "I'm sorry, I don't know what to tell you". "good hotel...wonder about price"
The EconoLodge was in a great location, situated just minutes from the wedding we were going to. There was easy access to the freeway, so we could go anywhere in no time at all. The place was clean and comfortable, though not luxurious in any stretch of the word. We didn't eat the free breakfast, but it looked adequate and fresh. My one question is […] this: why did I pay Expedia over twenty dollars more than the hotel put on the receipt when I checked out? Expedia wouldn't explain, and a call to the hotel left me nowhere. The first call I was told the manager was not there. The second call (answered by someone who sounded suspiciously like the manager) also yielded a "manager not here" message. I think that's because I explained my question to the lady who answered before and this time the manager conveniently decided that he wasn't there so he didn't have to explain. What a way to do business. I don't think I'll go back there, and I'm not likely to book through Expedia again if their prices are higher than I could get by booking directly through the hotel. They were the smallest queen size beds I've ever seen. ;-) I passed on a newer hotel, same price, queen beds, but I chose this Econ o Lodge because they offered the queen beds and breakfast.
