"Convenient, but not everything I expected"
The room was, for the most part, clean. However, we found HAIR in our refrigerator, an ant and another type of insect in the bathroom and toenail clippings in the window sill. We left a note for the maid service to please vacuum the window sill and upon return, it appeared to have been done, until we noticed the toenail clippings on the floor. They […] apparently just dusted them out of the window sill! Which made me wonder if they vacuum at all! Unbelievable! And the hair in the refrigerator was not just one - it was a small clump. Very disgusting! The beds seemed clean and comfortable enough, but we were so grossed out by the other things that it was a little difficult to be comfortable. The close proximity to SixFlags (the reason for our visit) was VERY convenient. We were able to save on parking and just walk there. However, when looking for a place to eat one evening during our stay, we drove for almost a half hour and found nothing but a Subway and a Wendy's, and I would describe the area of town as less-than-desirable to find those. No sit-down restaurants to be found anywhere nearby. However, we never got on the Insterstate to look. We thought we'd find something close. Most of the service personnel at the hotel were nice, but I wouldn't describe them as overly friendly. If we go to SixFlags again, I don't believe we will stay at this hotel. But indecisive for now. While the hotel is very convenient to Six Flags and the staff was very friendly, it desperately needs renovating. Very old and dingy decor, floors were filthy. I was surprised at how close it was to Six Flags. The beds were comfortable. The rooms were spacious and cleaned daily. I liked the fact that they added a gameroom and had my favorite games, which were Mrs. Pac Man and Galaga. The fitness center was nice, my son spent most of his time there. The front desk was always professional and made checking in […] and out so easy. The only negative thing I can say, which really isn't all that bad, is that they need a better variety for breakfast. It's the same spread everyday, no matter how many days you stay for. I enjoyed it the first day or two, but by day three, I was disappointed. "Best vacation ever!"
We booked this hotel for the closeness and convenience to Six Flags. As promised in the reviews we read, it was well within walking distance. We were sceptical at first but decided to go ahead and make a reservation. We were afraid with the close proximity to Six Flags it would be very noisy but surprisingly it was not noisy at all. The room was clean […] and the bed was extremely comfortable. The only drawbacks were they no longer have the spa and the game room and fitness facility was very small. The pool was small for the size of the hotel. We weren't able to visit the pool at all due to it being crowded every time we went down to it. My family and I stayed at the Wingate by Wyndham-Atlanta Six Flags during the Thanksgiving holiday. The hotel is very clean. Also, it offered a great full service breakfast each morning. It is a great hotel to stay in when Six Flags is open because it is only about 1 block from the park. However, in the off season, there is nothing else around the hotel.
