Pan American Hotel

The hotel is a 2-3 star hotel that I would rate as a 5 within that category. The hotel is located just a few blocks from the subway which makes access into the heart of NYC very easy and the subway ride is only $2.50 no matter the distance you go. The rooms were clean and roomy enough with your private bathroom and free parking (!!!) which can be very […] hard to find in this price point in NYC. The employees were helpful and provided directions to the subway station and recommended nearby restaurants. There was an Argentinian steakhouse a block away which had amazing skirt steak and masked potatoes. The hotel was perfect for a place to sleep and shower while visiting the city. Read more

The Pan American Hotel has a very convienent location. They are a short 3 block walk from the Grand Avenue subway station, nearby shopping and dining and 7 subway stops from Manhattan. The hotel and shuttle staff were outstanding! I kept just missing the shuttle - because I was confused at which airport section I was at and they kept coming back to get me until they finally did. The Pan American Hotel was the perfect choice for a night. The room and the restroom was clean. There were no complications at all with checking in or out. This hotel is the best located, reasonably priced place to stay if you want to be able to get out to the US Open Tennis Championships and to pop into the City to take in a show, both of which we did on this trip as we have other years. No, the Pan American Hotel isn't a resort, but they don't claim to be. For New York City, this hotel comes in at the bottom on the price scale, but you'll get plenty of bang for your buck. The building is big. A the structure itself was nice to the eye. I thought a good washing of the outside would just make it majestic. The entance is nice. A small fountain and more plamts would have been perfect. I did like the fact that it had a nice smell and looked clean. I was pleasantly surprised that the hotel room was as large as it was. My past experience in NYC was that rooms are very small. This one was like a suite! Even had a sitting area with coffee table!
