Only there for one night but had stayed here about a year ago. VERY close to the Boston Science Center which was the primary destination but just across the street is the Cambridge Side Galleria which we visited so the kids could do some shopping. My wife and two children had a great stay and found the hotel to be all we expected. The river view from our room was great. The only down side is that you have a limited choice of restaurants within walking distance from the hotel.

They have one of the best hotel pools anywhere, but they just got rid of their hot tub because they're too cheap to comply with ADA regulations. This is a big disappointment. I used to look forward to relaxing in their hot tub while my son plays in the pool.

The hotel is right next door to the Boston Museum of Science, always a hit with kids. Across the street is the Cambridgeside Galleria shopping mall, with many restaurant options and a food court. The hotel has some of the best views possible of the Boston skyline, and the kids enjoyed looking out at the Charles River.

We were very pleased with the Royal Sonesta Hotel Boston. The room was very modern and up-to-date (in fact, it looked like the rooms had just been renovated). The bathroom was very nice and clean (important point for me). The indoor pool was extremely nice - only problem is that they closed at 10pm - would suggest a later closing time as there were […] several people in the pool that would have liked to stay later (including my kids). Only negatives would be that the beds were not King Size but rather double beds which are tiny and the hallways looked a bit worn - albeit I am not sure if they were worn or it was just the coloring of the interiors that made them look warn. We picked this hotel because of the location, and because it was one of the few hotels in the Boston/Cambridge area that would allow five people in a room. First, we did have a couple of problems...we were supposed to have a rollaway, but when we checked in on a Saturday afternoon about 4:30PM, they were out. Which actually ended up being okay, because […] the rooms are NOT big. I don't know where a rollaway would have even fit. We also had problems with the hot water - it would work, and then a little while later, it wouldn't. And then our air vent started to make noise... The good news, though, is that the hotel staff was extremely attentive to our issues. Instead of a rollaway, they made sure we had extra blankets and sheets to make a pallet on the floor for our youngest (and because the hotel is so clean, him sleeping on the floor didn't even creep me out - and it would have if the room had been gross). When we called about the water, a maintanance person was sent up to check things out, and they did some work while we were gone during the day to replace a valve. When the air vent was making noise, again maintanance was sent up immediately. When we called for more towels or glasses, they were delivered within 10 minutes. And then we always got a call from the front desk to make sure things had been taken care of. We were very impressed with how quickly things were taken care of - this is a big hotel! As for the room, it was clean, comfortable and very nicely decorated. As I said, it wasn't big, and the bathroom was on the small side. But for our family of five, we were comfortable. There were a couple of really great things about this hotel. It is across the river from Boston, but is close to a T station, and across the street from one of the trolley tour bus stops. My son and I went to Boston to explore the city, as well as visit family. We spent 2 nights at my cousin's house, and our last night at the Royal Sonesta. Its price was reasonable compared to other Hotels I looked at, and from the reviews I had read, it was in a good location. That is all correct. It is right on the river, walking distance to the science […] museum, and a short cab ride to the north end Italian district (great food!). It is not too far from the T (Boston's subway system) as well. The mall is across the street, and it is not very far from Quincy Market as well. The room, while not huge, was very comfortable. This is our second stay at this hotel and we would return. Gorgeous view of the river and fun to run/walk (except for the beastly heat.) I swam in the pool instead and was disappointed to see that the tiles in the pool really needed to be cleaned. That was only negative. Hotel room very nice, art everywhere especially interesting.

I was very satisfied with this hotel and I would definitely stay there again or at one of their other locations based on this experience. The hotel staff was INCREDIBLY friendly and helpful. They have a shuttle to take you to locations in Boston, however, it was also in a walkable location. Therefore, we took the shuttle to Quincy Market and walked […] around all day and then had about a 1.5 mile walk back. It is also about a half mile from the Orange Line stop on the T, so not wanting to drive in Boston worked out great. We stayed during the summer so some of the hotel perks included free ice cream, free bicycle rental (they have helmets too), and a free hour long boat cruise of Boston and Cambridge. Great perks! The room was small. The water in the bathroom sink was just a trickle. All staff members with whom we dealt were friendly, courteous and helpful.
