This property houses 400 guestrooms in two, 10-story towers. Guestroom décor includes either white, black and crimson color schemes, or chocolate, beige and earthy dark-brown fabrics and furnishings. Beds are draped with 300-thread count linens, white duvets and crimson- or chocolate-toned bed shawls. Pale-wood furnishings and art reproductions of New York City artists' works grace each guestroom. Bathrooms contain shower/tub combinations, or showers only, and are stocked with Poggesi toiletries. "My favorite place in the Boston area..."
I've stayed here several times in recent years, and I always make a point of trying to do so. The cost, quite honestly is no more or less than any of the big-name places just down Memorial Drive from here. The hotel is across the street from the Galleria Mall, and around the corner from the Museum of Science. Walking distance to the T, and there's public […] transport at the mall. Very easy. If you're in shape a good run along the Charles is in order, or a walk into Kendall Square is a short one. The hotel staff are friendly, professional and know their jobs. They are there to help you, and I'm very impressed. The two restaurants have limited, but good menus, and their staff is also decent. The rooms are comfortable, but I do wish they'd get longer beds. I'm over six feet, and the Individual Traveler Room beds are a bit short for me. Otherwise, I can't think of a better place to be in Boston; I highly recommend it. I have stayed here several times in recent years, and I have always been more than satisfied. The hotel, from top to bottom is immaculate, well staffed and one cannot ask for more. The rooms are top of the line, clean and very comfortable. The fitness center is good, and the pool is well maintained. As for the restaurants, they are both quite good. I arrived pretty late on Sunday night, due to weather delays to my flight. Although no food service was available in the in-house restaurant or lounge, room service was available, and quite good. Minor quibbles are high price of soft drinks on room service menu. Food prices for room service were in the expected range (somewhat high, but not outrageous) […] and the quality was really pretty good. Not out of line with what one might pay for similar quality at a restaurant. Since there is very little in the way of retail within easy walking distance, it would be nice if there were some vending machines for soft drinks and snacks. Mini-bar and room service prices must be a big profit center, but really, 4 dollars for a 6 oz. diet coke? The room was quite nicely furnished in a modern minimalist style. Automatic LED lighting is a nice touch for the energy conscious consumer. Location is ideal if proximity to MIT is desired. It was a little less convenient in relation to Harvard and Harvard Square. The hotel is lovely and sits right on the water. Be sure when you are reserving your room to avoid checking off the designation regarding single traveler or something close to that. It means they will put you in a room next to the elevator or the ice machine and the walls are very thin. I was able to change my room, which ended up being quite nice except […] for the fire alarm going off for 30 minutes beginning at 11:15pm. I was told there was a short in the alarm system, so this was a false alarm which they were unable to silence for 30minutes. The hotel was very nice. I was staying for business for only one night. I would not recommend this location for people coming into town to enjoy the night life of Boston as it seems to be in a very calm part of the city.
