"Not bad for an independent hotel"

"Stayed to visit college for our son"
The hotel was clean, rooms your average for price. Main complaint is no marking for entry for hotel. Right on major highway and we arrived after dark and nothing to warn drive on right and was not lighted. Passed it and had to go down and turn around. "Working away from home"
The room was a non-smoking room. Knowing I was arriving, the air was not on in the room. The room was hot and stuffy and smelled like a day-old ashtray. It was almost more than I could stand. Once the air had been own for about 2.5 hours, the smoke smell began to leave the room. "Don't stay in a "smoking" room"
I had to average this rating for the two nights I was there. The first room I was in was a designated "smoking" room - I had selected it online because it was the only type of room available with a King size bed. Everything in the room smelled so bad, though, that I couldn't sleep - I had to put towels on the pillows because even the linens on the bed […] smelled. I asked for another room the next morning, and the staff graciously accommodated my request. The second room was pleasant enough. The hotel is off of the highway, and kind of hard to see - especially at night. It is generally a comfortable hotel. Breakfast was the standard continental breakfast fare. "Expected More"

I love to swim, so was disappointed to learn that the hotel pool was closed for painting.. loud..noise from neighboring rooms was startling at night. "Older, but clean hotel convenient to Sylva"
It's an older property that hasn't had much updating in a while. Weeds in front were knee high so the curb appeal isn't the greatest. There was noticeable highway noise in our room which was located facing the highway - the other side might be quieter. "Adequate, but overpriced"
Hotel was adequate. Bed was comfortable and there were no strong odors of cleaning agents or perfumes in the air, which was appreciated. However, the sheets were stained (clean, but stained), and the heat lamp switch in the bathroom was missing. There was also no fan in the bathroom and the toilet flushed slowly. "A nice place for us and our furry companions"
The people working at the hotel were very nice and we appreciated their helpful attitudes. The only negative we saw was that the back stairwells had a lot of dried mud, but we stayed during the winter so it's probably more challenging to keep this clean at this time. The trash can at the back entrance, however, did not look like it had been emptied […] for some time as there was trash falling out of it near the doorway, too. Overall, we were pleased with our experience. The beds were super-comfy. We appreciated that this was a pet-friendly hotel. It was nice having a breakfast included, too. Was in Sylva to visit the local college (WCU) and before the big visit, we all had to take cold showers! When we inquired, they simply said "We're full, it happens all the time". "Very convenient"
With in 15 miles of Cherokee and Franklin. Hotel is an old Comfort Inn. It was clean but old. It is a nice hotel for the price. I had an issue with a smoking guest in a non smoking room. "At least the room was clean"
Had a challenging time with the check in process. My secured room (double beds/non-smoking) was not available when I checked in. I was told there were no "clean" double bed rooms available, which I thought was a little unusual, since it was approximately 10PM. I was given a room with a king bed. Then, my key card did not work, so I went back to the […] desk to get another one, and the new key card didn't work either. The man at the front desk said it must be the battery on the door lock. He then gave us a different room and this time the key worked. Unfortunately, this entire "check-in" process took about 30 minutes and was not a good way to start my stay. Thankfully, everything else was fine. The room was very clean (decor was outdated,but I didn't really care), and all the linens were fresh and well maintained. There was a frig, microwave and coffee pot in the room. The bathroom was also very clean. "Get Directions!"
This hotel is beautiful from the outside but nobody mentioned that it's literally off the map. We drove around for about an hour trying to find the place. People in town had never heard of it, the GPS wasn't registering it, and when we called the hotel, nobody picked up until the fifth time. Once we checked in, everything was fine. The rooms were neat […] and clean. The only problem was that our air conditioner wouldn't stay on. We wouldn't have cared if you couldn't hear your neighbors through the wall. Litt slitent hotell i 70-tallsstil. Rommet var reint og sengene gode, men litt bråkete aircondition. Ligger like ved motorveien oppe i fjellene. Helt greit for en natts overnatting.
