May 2013: The hotel, suite room, staff and breakfast were great. Our room had everything we needed and the pricing we got thru hotels.com made it very reasonable. We could just walk around the corner and there were all sorts of restaurants that served great food and nice little shops. It was close to the metrorail which was handy. My only complaint […] would be that the person working the drive up/out section be more knowledgeable about how to get to places. The desk person did know about how to get to some places in the area. "Pre cruise stay"
Great room for our family of 5 (queen suite), very good service and recommendations from front desk for restaurants and taxi to port. "Convenient prior to cruise"
We arrived the night before our cruise. We were able to take the Metrorail from the airport to the Brickell Station that was just a block and a half from the hotel. ($2 fare each!). The room was comfortable and clean. I was able to walk to a Publix nearby for last minute needs. We used the free metromover (also a block away) to go to Bayside park. I […] felt safe in the area, and the free breakfast was wonderful. Only complaint would be that they charged for a shuttle to the cruise port. ($8 per person). "Everything was great except the water pressure."
We loved almost everything about the hotel. It was very clean, the staff was helpful and the pool was nice. The only thing I would suggest is they fix the water pressure. "Stayed the night before our cruise"
Everything was great, This is the 2nd time we've stayed here before taking a cruise with Carnival. They just finished the bar upstairs which was a GREAT addition to the hotel. "Great location for seeing downtown Miami"
We loved staying at this Hampton Inn. It's a lovely new boutique hotel in a great location for walking places. We walked less than a block to get on the MetroMover (like a bus on a track) that took us many places we wanted to go with no cost to us and a great way to see downtown Miami. "The customer service at this hotel is horrible!"
Upon arrival the room wasn't ready and the desk staff weren't helpful in expediting the process. All they could say was check back evey hour. Needless to say the room wasn't ready for three hours and it was past the checkin time. I requested two rooms next to one another, because of my children. They gave me rooms down the hall from each other. I informed […] the manager and there was nothing she could do until the other available rooms were clean. Why weren't all the rooms clean and it's past checkin time? Go figure that one. While in my children's room, I noticed the housekeeping next door. I proceed to call the manager and request the room next door. She informed me that the room would be available after the cleaning and she would call me. I kept a watch out until the housekeeping was finished. The manager hadn't called me 20 minutes after the completion of cleaning. I had to call her and she still had to have the room cleared by the Director of Housekeeping. I finally got in my room an hour later. My next problem was the location of this hotel. It's in between high rise condimenium buildings. Most of the cab drivers don't know where it is located. If you're going to South Beach, please rent a car. This hotel is at least a 20 minute drive. The hotel is located downtown Miami in a residential area. You can see the business area from the hotel. The area surrounding the hotel has restaurants in walking distance that are extremely expensive and unfamiliar. The hotel serves a continental breakfast, because there aren't any restaurants in the area that serve breakfast. The hotel doesn't have any room service. They provide menus to order from restaurants in the area. Lastly, I left a canvas print family photo in my children's room. I called upon landing, all of my information was taken and I was told to call back in the morning. I called back that morning and nothing was turned in from housekeeping for the room. We truly enjoyed our stay at Hampton. The hotel lobby is beautiful, stylish, and comfort. Our room is very clean, and tastefully decorated with many nice touches. "Nice hotel"
We stayed overnight between flights. Great clean, modern room, excellent complimentary breakfast. Good location with a considerable number of restaurants around. Very pleasant staff. They even called us in the breakfast area when our shuttle for the airport arrived. The only issue we had was that the reception is on the 6th floor and when we arrived […] the lady on the desk on the ground floor was busy with someone else for 10 minutes and then went off into a back room to deal with some other problem for another 10 minutes leaving the desk unattended. There was no sign on the desk indicating that reception was upstairs so we waited for 20 minutes before she came back and told us to go upstairs. The next morning when the desk was unattended there was a sign saying "Reception is on the 6th Floor" sitting on the desk. That sign should be there permanently, even when the desk is occupied. "A wonderful hotel at a nice and safe neighborhood"
This hotel was new, very clean and modern and had beautiful decor. The rooms were of nice size, the pool area was great even though the pool itself was a bit small. The area where the hotel is was nice, it had many restaurants and felt safe, which was very important to us.
