"Nice, modern, fun"
This is a cool, modern hotel. It has a happening rooftop bar, some nice restaurants and very nice, clean, modern rooms. The only downside is that it is a bit cheesy (just a bit, not too much...). But overall, I'd stay here again for sure.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Good trip, nice hotel, satisfied"
I don't think the price equaled the experience. I mean, it was a very nice hotel, but for what we paid, I expected so much more. The TV was connected to DirecTV I guess and it was terrible reception. We couldn't watch television for the entire trip. I am a "Bed Freak" and all great rooms to me are judged on the bed. This was a total let down. The beds […] looked like they were mattresses on top of platforms and really gave me the feel of a Motel 6 in presentation....no frills. Loved the size of the balcony and took advantage of it whenever waiting for everyone to get ready. Nice bathroom, but the very deep, very small tub was a bit confusing. Definitely not enough room for two in the tub, but dual shower heads. It may just be ME, but if I'm going to add that as a perk, I'd enlarge the tub for more than one guest to enjoy at once. It would definitely be a crowd pleaser!!! LOL All in all, it was a good trip, but for the price, I'd look elsewhere when visiting. Room service was not an option, a BLT was more than two days parking at the surrounding lots! Parking was at a ridiculous rate per night, so we parked 2 blocks away. There are parking garages that offer discounts on the weekend and much, much cheaper than the hotel. As I said, it wasn't bad, especially considering our desire to stay in a nicer, cleaner hotel than the older hotels on South Beach. It was a short drive to the beach and very nice. The hotel is beautiful as well as the room. However, because it's right on the busy street, it's a bit noisy due to the traffic. The shower gets clogged up very quickly.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Stunning Hotel"
I decided to stay downtown instead of SOBE this work trip and I am happy I did. The pro's of the Kimpton: It is beautiful and clean and very chic. You walk in and you feel like you're entering a gallery or museum. The staff is very helpful. The Valet guys are nice (even though it's pricey at 40 bucks a night), The pool on the 16th floor is really cool […] and has awesome views, and the rooms are spacious and have GREAT bathrooms. There is also a free wine hour in the lobby every evening which is a nice touch. The Cons: The valet price per night, the restaurants are overpriced for what they are, the pillows in the room were pretty terrible and I usually don't notice minor things like that - but I woke up uncomfortable every night. The spa was pretty mediocre. They do not have a steam room like the description says - which was a huge bummer. Also note that you have to pay to use the locker rooms and sauna and overall area. The amenities were very blah as well once I did pay to go down to the spa. It was not very luxurious. The prices for massages is so unreal and crazy it was laughable. Overall, I loved this hotel - it was so chic and comfortable and had great views. I think they could work on the spa though. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
The hotel was beautiful expect when I went to take a shower the drain was clogged and the water backed up to my ankles. That's disgusting, to add to that the shower head and glass had green build up on it. For the price I paid I shouldn't have had any problems. My favorite part was the pool , my servers made my feel like a queen, Andrew and Carlos made […] my stay much better. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"OK to stay."
Great location: close to the airport, to South Beach, Coral Gables and Coconut Grove. Good vibe, fun pool area. Best world-class japanese restaurant in town. Food at Area 31 is really bad, so is the food from the room service. Valet parking is EXTREMELY slow, so call in advance for your car. Price is good, club level is recommended.Genuine Expedia guest review

Excellent restaurant. Room shower not draining properly and need to add more bathroom amenities such as more soaps and shower caps along with slippers. Bed was comfortable but did not have convenient electrical sockets on nightstands for smart phones.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Amazing hotel"
The room was spectacular with a view that was to die for. Food was extremely high quality and not crazy expensive either. Valet is very very slow during busy periods. Give them 30 mins to fetch your car.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The Epic is a fun place to stay, if only to look at the cars in the turn-around. Miami bling abounds. The staff is very accommodating and pleasant. The only critique is that the mattress was a little tired and uncomfortable.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Luxury hotel in downtown Miami"
We initially planned to stay at South Beach but ended up fleeing the noise. We took Epic in large part because it was unexpectedly cheap, for such a luxury hotel. And there is no question that this is at the high-end of the world's luxury hotel spectrum: very flashy overall look and feel, the cars parked out front look like something you would expect […] to see at a major car show, and many of the guests are dressed in ways that go beyond anything I've recently encountered (fortunately, the hotel staff didn't seem to mind that we were more normal looking...) Yet I had some issues here too. The Zuma restaurant (ultra-fancy sushi) was so noisy we ended up cancelling our reservation. We ate twice at Area 31; superb, but they take the whole molecular cooking concept a tiny bit too far for me in some cases -- our fish and steak were fantastic, but the "dirty cup" dessert didn't work for me, and I was surprised that I couldn't get better wines by the glass, considering how good the food was. And last, one night our sleep was disturbed by a very loud group in the adjacent room. I called and complained, and they rapidly did something, but this left me with a sense that Miami hotels are just not quiet. On the positive side, the room was very comfortable (if a bit small for such a fancy place), the swimming pools are fantastic, and Area 31 was genuinely impressive. So call it a 4.5 score? "Excelllent Stay"
The hotel is very trendy and very nice. The room and the view were awesome. The pool was very nice and warmed. What really gives this 5 stars is the hotel staff. They are relly nice! Some extra bonuses: -Brand new 24 hr fitness area -Free Wi-Fi -Walking distance to lots of restaurants and night scene Sometime they can also fail, the houskeeping came […] when I was still sleeping and when I asked (two times) to come again, they simply forgot. "Great modern hotel but very pricey"
This is probably the nicest hotel I've stayed at. My family (including our 3 year old) and I spent 4 nights at the hotel in August and it was a wonderful experience. The service was great. The lounge area was welcoming and tastefully decorated. Actually, the entire hotel was modern and nicely decorated. Our bathroom was big and spacious and our bed […] very confortable. our room overlooked the city and had a balcony. I am afraid of heights so did not venture outside My only complaint is the price of everything. 3 martinis and 1 Jacks on the rocks came to $60!! A glass of milk for our toddler was $4. Pancake breakfast (for our toddler) and (2 eggs)scrambled, and sausage with OJ and milk was a whopping $48!! Overall, I would recommend the hotel and would stay again but would probably eat out for every meal. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Amazing hotel with air-condition problem"
My girlfriend and I stayed at the hotel for one night. It spent amazing time together; the room was clean and big. Also, the worker were polite and helpful. However, they charged me for many things such as parking $36 and Internet $10, but i was happy because i enjoyed my time until midnight the air-condition was not working, so i left the hotel at […] 4 am angry!! "For sure."
We stayed on the 29th floor which is club lounge level - Gene the concierge in the club lounge was by far the best hotel employee I have ever met. Wonderful service and great array of free desserts, drinks, etc. Wish the pool had access to sun day-round (in the afternoon the sun moves and only covers the residential pool area). It was a very nice pool, […] but I've seen better for the money (Cosmo in Vegas for example). The front desk uniforms were awful and worn (mostly because of the material choice... I can't see how it would look good for long). View from our room (water view) was absolutely awesome. All in all though, I would definitely stay again - just a bit pricey for this boutique hotel. In case it helps, we were a couple that went for one night. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"EPIC Weekend!"
This was our first time in Downtown Miami, we normally stay in Miami Beach and we were pleasantly surprised! The hotel is beautiful, our room was very comfortable and the view was satisfactory. I would have preferred a waterview, but I didn't realize it was an option so I didnt' ask for it. Our room was right off the elevator bay so it was quite noisy, […] but that is to be expected for the location. The AREA31 Restaurant was Excellent and the KYMA Lounge was incredible, but I would have expected hotel guests to be preferred entry. We had to wait in a line to gain entry to the club, several of the members in our party decided to go back to their rooms rather than wait in the line. Staff were very attentive, I would consider returning, but we would probably travel to another dance club next trip. My friends were not pleased with the wait. Response by EPIC, a Kimpton Hotel Thanks for sharing your feedback from your stay. We are glad you liked our hotel and AREA31 restaurant, located in downtown Miami. "High End Hotel for HIGH END PEOPLE"
We checked in, which was easy, and the person that checked us in ask if we were celebrating anything. I told him we were there to celebrate an early 35th birthday for my wife. He had me fill out a paper to get some complimentary strawberries and champagne. The room is Beautiful. The bathroom was large & the bed was comfortable. The balcony was huge, […] and we had a great view. We tried to go into the club in the hotel, & I was told I wasn't dressed for the club. So I went upstairs to change, as my wife and friends waited for me. We decided to check out the Asian restaurant bar, but it was too packed, headed back to the club. We were then told there was a private event and we couldn't get in. Everyone was very upset and annoyed, so my friend and I walked down to the Walgreens, 3 blocks away to get alcohol for the room. My wife and her friend went to the front desk & said something at the front desk, and the person at the desk went over and said something to the door man, and when the desk person return, he said there was no private party, and we could go in. I would never set foot in the EPIC hotel again because I should never be made to feel like I am beneath the door man. To park the car at the hotel is $32 a day. CRAZY. When we checked out on Sunday, I told the front desk person that the drain was slow in the room, and that we never got the strawberries, so she ask if it was OK to comp me the room service that we received the first night. I said yes, that was fine. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

This is the kind of place that makes you feel cool just walking in. The lobby is sophisticated, the pool/bar is hip and a great place to lounge. The 5pm free wine hour is good too! The only complaint I have is that my room wasn't cleaned until late in the day so my bed was still unmade when I got back from sunning myself poolside.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Excellent Service, except for breakfast"
Excellent hotel with overall excellent service, except however at breakfast (on 3 consecutive days), which iis not included in the room rate. It is a menu service that is extremely slow because it is totally uncoordinates despite the availability of sufficient personnel. i mentionned the problem at check out when asked when i was satisfied about the […] services of the hotel, and the cashier was very reponsive by immediately withdrawing the cost of 3 breakfasts (for two persons each) from the bill, adding: "we do not want uou to leave the place dissatisfied".
