After staying in a terrible hotel in New York City, I didn't expect anything good from this hotel in Miami, which was a way cheaper. I was shocked when I entered the hotel and saw how beautiful it was. The room was absolutely comfortable and the service was excellent. I loved that room and I enjoyed swimming in the swimming pool. Dont know where to begin, had to pay to park our truck in a not very well lit parking garage. Room was very dirty, had to be let in room by from desk due to locks in ALL hotel rooms where broke. Got locked into our room from the inside, called front office 2x to get let out of our room only to get hung up on. Door was busted. Had to pay for parking in a parking garage that was NOT very well lighted, DIDN'T feel very safe in the garage or the HOTEL. Room was dirty, only had a sheet on our bed, room stunk, had no control over the AC so room was FREEZING, windows DON"T open. Couldn't get into our room ourselves had to be let in from staff (ALL locks in ALL rooms were BROKE) […] got locked in our room couldn't get out, staff hung up on us like we were joking so had to brake the door to get out, other room was so NASTY, office staff was RUDE food was terrible and COLD,(danish and coffee) no restaurant in the HOTEL. The hotel appearance was horrible. The hotel staff was horrible and inconsiderate. We had to complain every day about having enough washclothes and towels. They have the worse beds i have ever slept in. The breakfast consisted of coffee, mystery milk, fruit loops and raisin brand, hostess cakes and plain bagels. The outside was were mildewed and dirty. […] The pool did not smell like chlorine at all. It seemes like they were suppose to have a fountain but it was dried up. The bathroom door did not close. The staff was not friendly and there are stains all over the carpet of the hotel. The paint was not maintained well in the hotel. The room I had the beds had two different mattresses. One of them was not even sleep able . The hotel has plenty of potential, just needs a severe overhaul. The pool lounge was the only thing it had going for it.

What you pay is what you get... Got frozen to almost death by the air conditioner that even in the off position was still letting chill in. Breakfast is very, very limited. Internet does not work on rooms and not even in the common halls, you have to get down to the lobby. Bed sheets looked clean, but cannot say the same for the blanket, which had something that looked just like nose crap in it. The room is too dark - there's no light in the ceiling, only from the abajours. The bathroom walls too had something that looked like nose crap (or worse). This is my second stay here. The reasons to stay here are the cheap price and the location. All I wanted was a cheap place to shower and sleep near the University of Miami when I was in town for a football game. I didn't use any hotel amenities (pool, breakfast, fitness room, etc). If you have kids or are going to hang out and do things in the hotel, you should go elsewhere. If you just want a cheap bed then stay here. New from last year is the attached parking garage (extra charge) is now gated. You pick up a phone for admittance. The immediate neighborhood is rundown but vibrant shopping and restaurants are 2 blocks away (easy walking distance). The University of Miami is 1/2 mile away. I walked there. The only issue with my room was a leaky shower faucet that wastes water (I reported it to the management). Stay here cheaply and use the money you save to shop or sightsee in Miami. Read more

It was very difficult to find this hotel. I called the front desk 3 different times letting it ring 15-20 times with no answer. I asked a bicyclist if he knew where the hotel was. He politely directed me. It was approx. 8:00pm. The hotel clerk did not look up upon my arrival. I then said "excuse me"...clerk...may i help you. Yes I would like to check […] in. Oh, you have to come over here. I then mentioned the phone calls and she said she was too busy to answer the phone. There was one person in the lobby. I was then informed I need to put a $25.00 deposit on the room and an $8.00 parking fee. OK...She asked if I needed a wake up call, I replied yes. 3:00am..I need to get to the airport. I did not receive my wake up call. My inner alarm woke me luckily. The parking garage was creepy for a single girl to be going through and even creepyer once inside the hotel stairwell. Very difficult to find my room. I got dripped on from the ceiling vent near the bathroom. Just get this night over with. There is so much more I can add. Trust me I was not expecting the Marriott with the price I paid but all might have resolved itself if customer service would have stepped it up a notch. I have written to the hotel managers twice now asking for a reply and have not heard from anyone. I put off writing to hotels.com waiting to hear from someone but they don't again understand the concept of customer service. On a small positive note they have a beautiful indoor pool with a non-functional bar and a non functional restaurant. If they say they offer breakfast don't fall for it. Read more

While, overall, our stay at Best Miami was pretty good, there was no shortage of people complaining about things (having to pay for parking, not being told of the charges on their accounts, problems with the shuttle bus - which we didn't even know about -, etc.). The place needs maintenance, but the aircon was good, there were plenty of TV channels, and wifi was free (though you could only get it in the room occasionally). The breakfast bagels weren't the freshest, but they were free and there was plenty of cereal for you. Conveniently close to the South Miami train station, which was very handy. we chose this place for its attractive price and location, not too far from Downtown and the beaches, us1 etc ... the overnight parking is 8 dollars per night when, at this location it should really be free. it was the worst decidion i have ever made ! the guy at the front desk was young and friendly, the hotel SEEMED clean from downstairs. in the middle […] of the hallway of the 3rd floor was a pile of bags-garbage thrown there by occupants of other rooms and staff left it there. BAD !!!! we went to our room : dirty clothes from previous clients stayed hung at the back of the bathroom door, hair ( of all kinds ) in our beds, dirty AC filters, dusty all over, disrty carpets and bathroom. we asked to change rooms, second room was similar to the first one. dirty towel behind bathroom door, dirty carpets, clogged bathroom sink, hair in beds!!!!! again !!! we asked AGAIN to change rooms and the last one didnt have dirty clothes or towels in the bathrooms but it was not very clean neither, hair on the floor, in the toilets but we were so exhausted by our trip and jet lag that we stayed there for the night. the FREE breakfast was a SHAME ! DISGUSTING !!! no internet access in the rooms... we call the reservation center customer service, explained the situation and asked to cancel the rest of our trip in this hotel. They called the hotel to see what was wrong and finally decided to cancek our reservation.
