Very disappointed and afraid during my stay. Left over dirty towel in shower, raisins on floor, soiled chair,plastic pillow cases. Slept with chair in front of door and bolted close. "In Dire Need of a Remodel"
The hotel was clean and the service was decent and that was the extent of the positive. The exterior and interior were a throw back from the 1960's and the location had a great view of the Expressway. Although it was listed as an airport hotel it was four miles away from the terminal so you had to take a shuttle back to the airport to get the city train. Staff was rude, they took a carbon copy of my credit card with signature for any extra charges. I was told I would get the carbon copy back at check out. "would not keep luggage until room is ready"
I was very disappointed with this hotel. I booked it for two reasons: (1) to drop off the luggage on the last day before leaving to Europe and (2) to get a shuttle ride to the airport in the morning. They did not take the luggage until the room was ready, you could not store it or leave it in the lobby. "DO NOT STAY HERE!!"
When I arrived, they had already given my boyfriend (who was NOT on the reservation nor did i ever give permission) the key to my room - He could have been any strange guy! The phone and toilet were broken in the room - let the front desk know but they did nothing about it !! My only problem was that the hotel/staff failed to mention to me that all roads leading to the hotel would be closed at midnight. The staff told me which restaurant to go to for my business appointment. Then I drove back at midnight and couldn't get back to the hotel. All the exits to the hotel were closed. Not only does the hotel smell like old sweat and smoke but there have NO business Center at all, the counter help is HORRIBLE, there staff cares less about the clients then the people that are sticking menu's under the doors do. The Shuttle bus driver goes to one place ONLY and refuses to go any where else even though I was told that they had shuttle […] service to the convention center before I booked. The "fitness Center" had 1 treed master and NOTHING Else, they have NO internet, NO restaurant suggestions besides "Pizza Hut" they have NO idea where anything in the area is and lack any knowledge of how to get any place or where even a decent place to eat would be located. "Days Inn near Miami Intl Airport - NEVER AGAIN!"
This hotel lacked customer service by front desk staff and were very unfriendly. Most guests (including me) seemed to be in a similar situation: not a frequent visitor to Florida, signed up for the free shuttle to the port of Miami, and/or the free shuttle from the airport, and planned to stay just one night before leaving the next day for a cruise. […] The Amenities listed included a workout facility, which in reality included two pieces of equipment both of which were rusty and broken. The location was not the best (especially if you didn't have a car). There were no restaurants within walking distance. There was a Club/ Restaurant attached to the hotel - which was very sketchy! In the morning before our cruise we went to the Oddest Continental Breakfast (in the adjoining restaurant) before leaving for the port. Not only did we pay $4.95 (or $6.95 if you wanted an egg) for Toast and Sunny-D, but they added 15% gratuity automatically to the check! The only positive service we got was from the shuttle service that picked us up from the hotel and dropped us off at the port, which was not run by Days Inn employees. Overall if I had to do this again, I would have payed extra to stay anywhere else. Not recommending this Days Inn by the airport. From now on I will be a customer who reads reviews! "Close to Miami Airport, but beware of conditions!!"
First off, the entire motel's interior corridors are humid and smell of mold. The beds are cheap and bed spreads smell. Bathroom is no cleaner either. We were frightened several times throughout the night with restaurant menus being pushed underneath the door. To top it off, there is no FREE breakfast!!! nothing, nada... just an overpriced snack machine […] with fatty foods. The restaurant that is there on the premises smelled of very strong urine when we entered through the doors so we just turned right around and left the motel without eating breakfast. "Horrible Experience"
Check-in and check-out went smoothly, but the room was dirty. There was hair on the pillows and sheets, the sheets were inside out and didn't stay on the bed overnight, which revealed large brown stains on the mattress. When I picked up the phone book to find another hotel, a spider came crawling out of it and the phone had a layer of dust on it. There […] was a crack in the top of the toilet and the handle was rusted. The bathroom floor was full of hair from previous guests. It was by far the worst hotel room I have ever stayed in. I will be avoiding the Days Inn at Miami Airport 11th st. in the future.
