We had a night in Miami between flights, and chose this hotel for the airport shutttle and free breakfast. The breakfast was excellent, but we waited longer than expected for the shuttle to pick us up. It was kind of annoying late at night to see shuttles from 30 or so other hotels - some twice - before ours finally showed. This is obviously an older […] property. They have made some attempts to renovate, like putting granite counters in the room and bath, but left important details like the mattress and the carpet undone. This hotel is an exquisite home away from home! The staff was extremely courteous and glad to see you. The rooms were very nice as well as the bed being heavenly! We ate at The Grill on the first floor - though the menu was small, the food was delicious! Our waitress was attentive and made sure we had a good dining experience. The manager even stopped […] by for a visit to make sure we were happy. Since this was our last night in Miami after a long vacation, it was a welcomed treat. The only drawback is the distance to any nightly activities is a haul, however, the hotel offers a "Happy Hour" from 5-7 p.m. with free drinks and food. They also provide free shuttle service to the Dolphin Mall throughout the day (20 min. trip). Overall, this hotel will definitely be the one we stay at the next time we need one in Miami! Overall, if you have to overnight in Miami, staying at ES is both convenient and comfortable. We were a little disappointed with three things that potential guests might want to bear in mind: 1. The bathroom was not satisfactorily cleaned. There were hairs in the shower, for example. 2. The inclusive breakfast, although wonderful at any other ES locations, […] started too late for us to partake. We had to leave a hour earlier for the airport, so be sure to check breakfast times. 3. The steak restaurant was way overpriced and not very good. The service was mediocre. We understand that hotel restaurants are usually like this, but to have this one seemingly integrated into the hotel, we expected a little bit better given ES's reputation. The pick up at the airport was great, as was the happy hour and breakfast the following morning. I was a little put off by the location...nothing nearby.
