Just 6 miles west of downtown Miami, the airport is next door to the business and residential area of Coral Gables, and just minutes from the shops of Coconut Grove. The busy airport includes an art gallery, plenty of duty-free shops, and a convenient hotel.
see all hotels in MiamiA lousy experience. We wanted to have an early check-in and the staff was so impatient and impolite. Of course, we would understand the rule, but the most important is the attitude. So I won't have another stay overnight there.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
""We service the airlines, not guests""
Had wheelchair assistance provided by AA for overnight stay prior to cruise. Requested room close as possible to elevator. LITERALLY rec'd room at very end of corridor. Their Concierge Desk was worse: my wheelchair escort asked if they'd provide a wheelchair or at least a bellman to assist with my 2 pc luggage transport to my cruise check-in point in […] the airport; they denied and, I quote: "If she were going to an outgoing airline, yes; but can't because we service the airlines, not the guests." "Discouraging experience."
Hotel is as dank and airless as the airport in which it is located. There is no access to Florida's lovely outdoors, and it costs $25+ each way to get to anywhere other than a chain to eat or any neighborhood in which to take a walk. Check in time is 3 pm, and there is no place to go if you are early for a room. People lie sleeping or yawning in the […] few chairs available in the lobby. "AVOID THIS DUMP"
This hotel is a dump avoid it at all cost. The staff was rude, the rooms small old outdated and dirty. "No Internet!"
How can a hotel in this day and age not have internet? In order to get a connection, you have to go to the 7th floor and fight for a place at three telephone booth sized computer stations. Never again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Old, run down hotel, tiny rooms"
I can't believe this is an airport hotel. Despite the price, it is old and run down. The rooms are tiny. (and this is coming off a 1 month Europe vacation!). The checkin took forever, as no one was there to check us in. The room service had the worst pizza I've ever had. The soundproofing was not sufficient and we listened to planes all night long. […] To top it off, someone called security on us after our baby cried for 5 minutes. Avoid this hotel at all costs, just take a shuttle to one of the very nearby decent hotels for the same price. Don't be tempted by the fact that it's "in airport". The convenience is not worth the price. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Not worth the money."
Rooms were clean. Hotel upkeep leaves much to be desired, tub was cracked and door were terrible. Room very small and very noisy. The doors to the rooms have no cushions. Everyone entering and leaving their room has no choice but to slam their door and it can be heard several rooms either way down the hall. I have stayed in far better for half the […] money. "Like prison, but without the creature comforts...."
My biggest complaint is that the room was dirty. There was hair all over - even on the towels - and the bathroom floor and tub looked as if they hadn't been cleaned since before Castro ruled Cuba. I was grossed out sufficiently that I skipped taking a shower in the morning as I thought I'd literally catch a foot fungus or possibly ebola from the tub. […] There was a single check in concierge checking in a huge line. I waited a half hour in line and I was there before the line got really long. "a really depressing place to stay"
The room needed a major renovation. The walllpaper on the walls was so old and dirty. The room was so small and there was just a small window to look out. From the moment you get into the elevator - it is nit clean. The hallways are not cleaned. The restaurant floors are filthy. If you have a very early flight is is very convenient - but this hotel is managed sans love.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Major Disappointment"
Front desk service was simply awful. Restaurant view is not what it's made to seem like. Beds are way too soft. Food and service in the 7th floor restaurant is substandard. The only pleasurable element of staying here was the very short distance to my flight the next morning. The hotel looks very old and beaten. It needs a lot of investment.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Worst Idea Ever"
The rooms are crazy expensive (for what they are), there's no dedicated parking at the airport for the hotel, the staff is curt and unprofessional, the hotel is unkempt and dilapidated, and the rooms are TINY. When I say tiny, I mean, the entire room is the size of some hotel bathrooms. Honestly, the "convenience" of this hotel inside the airport is […] non-existent. There are dozens of way better, way cheaper hotels just a few minutes away on a free shuttle. I really wish we had booked another place (where my rental car wouldn't cost $17 to park for 2 hours...in a parking lot a 10 minute walk away). I hated, hated, hated, this hotel. "Terrible customer service"
I came in on a redeye flight and called the front desk to ask how to get to the hotel. Three times they gave me incomplete directions. It took me 45 minutes to find the hotel when it should have been a 10 minute walk from my gate. Then, after waiting in line for 15 minutes to check in, I was finally given my room key. I went to my room only to find […] that the windows overlooking the runway were wide open. After climbing on the desk to reach up to close the windows, I realized that I couldn't find the light switch to shut of the fluorescent lighting in this concrete bunker of a room. I looked out in the hall and found some housekeepers and told them to tell me where the light switch was. They apparently have no clue where the light switches in the rooms are despite cleaning each room for a living. They said they would call the front desk. I waited 10 minutes. They never came. So I called the front desk and they said they would send someone up. 15 minutes later, I was still waiting. By that time, I finally managed to find the light switch hidden on a wall in the closet. Almost two hours after landing, I finally laid to get some some sleep. Needless to say, it wasn't quiet. After 3 hours of tossing and turning I finally got up and checked out. I will not be returning to this hotel if I ever fly through Miami again. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Miami Int'l Airport Hotel -- Subpar in every way"
My experience here was similar to that of most other reviewers: rude and unhelpful staff, poor cosmetic condition of rooms and hallways, and significant sanitary and hygienic issues in the bathroom. In other words, you should expect a Motel 6 experience at the price of a Westin. Frowns seemed to be the natural expression of the staff, who were very […] curt and rude. The hallways have scratches, scuff marks, and dents, apparently from decades of collisions with luggage that were never repaired. Worse of all was the condition of the bathrooms: used soap with hair on it. That's right -- the cleaning service did not even replace soap used by a previous guest. The average rate for a room here is nearly double what you will pay at any of the two dozen 3 and 4 star properties within one mile of the airport. Unless you have to catch a redeye, I can't think of any other compelling reason to stay here. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"MIA Airport Hotel - Awful"
I chose to stay here as I had a late flight into MIA and a very early flight out the next day. NOt have to deal with transportation in the early hour made up for the cost. I was worried that noice from overflying planes would bother me. Not so. I never heard a plane. I did hear every single person who traveled the halls as there's no sound proofing […] around the doors. This hotel is so convenient for travelers like me, who might arrive MIA late and night and are leaving again early the next day. the staff are very helpful and pleasant. But, oh dear me, the time for some maintenance and refurbishment to the property is long overdue. Having arrived from Tokyo, worn and jet-lagged, the first room I was given had a blocked […] bathtub drain. The staff at reception were very accommodating and apologetic. They immediately moved me to another room nearby, which was simply dirty. The toilet bowl was stained. I prefer to think that it was stained and not just filthy. The bath tub was full of rust. "Only because it's in the terminal"
Over the past twenty odd years, I've stayed here about once a year, when I get in to MIA late at night and my connecting flight leaves early in the morning. If at all practical, I try to stay at a nearby hotel with a shuttle bus, but sometimes, I feel the time wasted on them is too valuable to not be in bed asleep. An off-airport hotel will offer you […] a better room for less money - but you lose time. Over those years, I've noticed the hotel, especially the maintenance, deteriorate, year after year. I won't go into detail about last night's experience, listing all the things in the room that weren't working... suffice it to say that in most hotels, at check-out, they will ask you, "How was your stay." At this hotel, they no longer dare ask that question. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
