see all hotels in Miamiwell the place was not well put together. the front door was closed and wouldn't open so i had to go to the side door near valet, where a lot of people where standing near the door to get out of the rain, and the door was so heavy to open that i hurt my hand. i had to wait over 5 minutes for a hotel to get up stairs, and when i was leaving i waited […] 10 min for the elevator, that was full. then had to wait another 5 minutes. My room was not clean, it had some dirt in the corner near the wall, The air condition was so loud that we could barely sleep during the night. There was no parking. I had to drive around to find parking and ended up having to pay 22$ for parking. I wouldn't go again! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Only for One Night"
This hotel is ok for one night stays if you are getting on the ship the next day for your cruise. The location is convenient to the port, restaurants are in the area but the hotel itself is old and in need of upgrades. But for one night it was worth the price.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Close but gross"
I wish I had read the other reviews about this hotel before booking it. It was very close to the port. This was the only positive thing. It was not maintained, they claimed to have wifi but we could never get on, and the beds were awful. The shower had two temperatures, really hot and scalding hot. They also gave someone else the same room. At least […] the locks worked. Once upon a time this hotel was beautiful, but that was a very long time ago. I would never stay here again. Hotel is a privately owned hotel that is not maintained well at all. It looks like it was nice at one tome but not.any more. The room had towrn carpets, no bed spreads and the tub was painted and the paint was peeling away. The only good thing is the shower water was very hot and they clean the room with bleach. I will not stay here again....Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"It's Seen Better Days"
I couldn't recommend this hotel to any but the most easy going traveler. I was fine with the worn out furnishings and grungy atmosphere, but I have done a lot of backpacking/budget traveling. The location is great, there's a huge shopping, food, and entertainment complex across the street, and the Heat's home arena is walking distance. It work for us only 2 nights. One before the cruise and one after. They said they had contential breakfast and the dining area was close. The restroom on the main floor was out of order. "Poor quality, good location"
This hotel has absolutely no bells or whistles for the price. it should be more like $40/night. The beds are awful, no pictures on walls, dirty carpet, felt like a jail cell. Place is old and has never been updated in who knows how long. Staff doesn't smile or the just give one word answers. Only one of the elevaters was working for our entire stay. This hotel has a perfect location, right across the street from bayside market place. Friendly staff and very helpful in getting cabs and telling you were to go for fun. "You Get a Little Less Than You Paid For"
When I got to my room after a long drive from Orlando, the first thing I did was use "the facilities", naturally. I proceeded to then check out the room to realize the had one less bed than what I'd paid for. When I went downstairs to report this, the man said that, with the amount of time I'd had the room, he imagined I'd used the restroom by then […] and that there was nothing he could do. I responded with threatening to call the police until I got the 2 bedroom I'd ordered. With much attitude, he obliged. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Sub standard at best"
We asked the hotel for blankets, they said the didn't have any...?? The beds were as hard as laying on a piece of plywood. "Not a happy camper! Only good for the location"
The beds were uncomfortable, the maid service was poor, it was 4 of us and they only provided 1 roll of toilet paper per day and 2 towels; the persons staying there were of questionable character. "Great Location, Great Prices but DISGIUSTING!!"
My friend and I are college students who were looking for a place to stay one night while in Miami for a Heat game. We stumbled upon the Continental Downtown Bayside and, for the price, thought it was too good to pass up. It was the perfect location and priced for our budget. We disregarded all the terrible reviews it got and assumed it would be fine […] for one night- we couldn't have been more wrong. When you first walk in to the hotels lobby, you would think that all the negative reviews were false. The lobby was very nice and well kept. That is one of the hotels only positives. We checked in and got in the elevator. Our room was on the 10th floor. The elevator went straight past the 10th floor and stopped at the 13th floor (We were the only people in the elevator and the button for floor 13 was not pressed). We decided it would be better to just walk down the stairs to our room. The stairwell was littered with garbage and smelled like urine. I wouldn't be surprised if homeless people occasionally bunk there (in the stairwell) at night. We finally got to our room and immediately began noticing its many flaws. The bathroom was extremely small and all the faucet nobs/ heads on both the sink and the shower were rusted badly. In the room the beds were relatively comfortable, however, the sheets and pillow cases were stained with an unknown substance. We have suspicions to what the stains wee from but I'll leave it up to the imagination. The window was outlined by chipped paint and masking tape. The view was nice too, so it was a shame they didn't take care of the windows better. The TV was a 13'' gem that looked like it came right off the set of an early 90's sitcom. It worked though so, hey, I'm not complaining. The worst part of the room, however, was the mini fridge. I was excited to have a fridge at all, but when I opened it and saw what appeared to be some small chunks of frozen vomit, I decided not to use it. It was one of the grossest things I've ever seen. I can't begin to tell you about this hotel. the main thing I didn't like about it was that you had to pay for parking. that really killed the mood there. it was 15.00 a night but I had to be back by midnight or I couldn't park my car there. what a ripoff never again.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Terrible"
With so many other nice hotels around, you'd think this place could have stepped it up a bit. The toilet was so close to the bathroom sink I could put my head on it. I guess it's good for a wild party night or maybe the flu... but you couldn't even turn around in that bathroom without stepping in the tub! The beds were about a foot off the ground and […] I felt like I was laying on thin-foam covered plywood. Worst night's sleep ever!!! Definitely would NOT recommend this place to anyone. "Don't Do It!"
Please, Please, Please...don't stay here. The only good thing is the location. You can walk to Bayside and the AA. Our room was 1612....no air....rug gross....bedding old...dusty. The bathroom was clean, looked like it was recently made over. The worst hotel experience ever! No coffee maker but did have an ice box and hair dryer...go figure! They lied […] about having a fitness center, resturant /bar on site( there is a resturant and bar but both have not operated for over 2 years). Wondering if I complained? Sure did! The girl at the front desk just smiled and rised her shoulders. You could tell she had heard this before. I even called Hotels.com and told them to take this place OFF their web site. "Continental Downtown Baysid"
We only live about an hour from this hotel but were going to a concert and didn't want to drive home afterwards. This hotel was a matter of convenience. The location for us was perfect, it is directly across the street from Bayfront Park Amphitheatre which was where the concert was. I have nothing else good to say about this place other than location. […] It smells old and musty. I have been in cruise ship cabins that were bigger than this room. The tv stand touched the bed. The dresser drawers could not be opened because they were too close to the night stand. There is nowhere to put anything in the bathroom, with no cabinets and a pedestal sink there was not any counter space. My husband and I could not fit in the bathroom at the same time. The bed was hard. There were beer caps laying on the floor. I have never stayed in such a disappointing place and highly recommend that noone else stays there either unless you have no expectations.
