The staff was friendly and when improper cleaning methods were being used in the lobby and it was pointed out to the management, they took care of it right away...safety first! Front office staff, Donna and Michele are the best of all! Maids didn't get the room right even one day. There was always something missing that was supposed to be supplied. I recently stayed here with my husband on a visit to Portland ME. The hotel is very outdated but we knew that with the price we paid for our two night stay; we weren't expecting a 5 star hotel. Housekeeping skipped our room 1 day out of our 3 night stay, shower curtain was moldy and no good place to hang wet towels and swimsuit. Day staff was pleasant, night staff was pretty indifferent, busy time of year, but still. Microwave, coffee maker and refrigerator were nice touches.

We booked a non-smoking king size room, however when we got there the room had 2 smaller beds and smelled like smoke. When we went up to the desk to question our room and show them the confirmation from Expedia they stated that they only get our billing information and reservation date. Staff were really friendly and helpful. The rooms were generally comfortable and the price was good. Breakfast was quite extensive and very enjoyable. There was mold around the bathtub. The pool had cigarette filters and white rocks in the pool. The spa had a sandwich sign that said it was closed but it didn't have anything over it. I saw several people get into the spa. It was a definate green. I told the children that couldn;t read that it was closed.

The overall condition of this hotel is decent. It's definately not the Ritz Carlton but for a quick trip it's an ok place to stay. The rooms are on the small size for a family of 4. When we checked in, the clerks were a bit slow and they also had a lot of computer issues. No fault of their own. When we walked into our room, it was FREEZING!!!! Housekeeping […] left our window open in the middle of Maine in December!!!!! It had to have been maybe 35 degrees in our room. We also had requested a crib...not crib was in our room. We walked down to the lobby, which was confusing because we followed the signs and they lead to dead ends, we got to the front desk and first told them about the heat. The clerk didn't offer an apology but just said, well did you turn on the heat? Then when I inquired about the crib, we were told it's not a crib but a pack and play. I could have brought ours from home if I had known. Also our room was so small that we had to rearrange furniture to set it up. We had to move a heavy table/luggage holder thing. I figured when I was staying at a super 8 that I wasn't getting a 4 star hotel. However I did expect there to be enough parking spots. I checked into the hotel a little after 3pm. After checking in, I went out for a night on the town. When I returned, there were no parking spots left, as someone with a trailor was taking up 3 spots. I would have expected […] that a worker would have noticed this and had that person park in the Trailer parking. I went in to the front desk and asked about additional parking and was rudely greeted and treated like I was an inconvience. I was asked if I had checked in already and then told that there was no additional parking. I was offered no solution or hospitality. I was rudely told to look in the parking lot for a spot, when I clearly told the man at the desk that there were none left, because of the trailer. I was then told to park in the trailer parking area. I made sure to ask about not getting towed or a ticket because I was made to park in that area. I did not get a ticket and was not towed. We got to our room about 2:00 am IT looked like they may be remodeling the second floor we were on.
