"Disappointed - WILL NOT STAY IN THIS HOTEL AGAIN."
We stayed one night at the hotel (and thank god it was only one night). We arrived late in the evening after sunset. The entry to Hotel is of service road with no lights and it was a little tricky to find entry drive way. Once inside the hotel, check in clerk was very friendly and pleasant to deal with. Room was nice clean and quiet. However, that where […] the fund ended. Soon after check-in we realized that we had forgotten to bring toothpaste. we ask for toothpaste, the clerk saidthey were out of stock. Next morning , toilet clogged. When I called hotel service at about 0800 am, no one picked up the phone. It took 4 or 5 calls before some one picked up and promided to send some onr to fix the problem. We waited and waited and had to call twice more, tilll someone show up to fix the issue. After that when we went to breakfast, at about 0930, (Posted breakfast serving time 0730 to 1000), they ran out of Egg, french toast and sausages. Attendant said he can not replenish the food because microwave was broken. So we had to check out the hotel and eat breakfast elsewhere. Bottom line- I WILL NOT STAY IN THIS HOTEL AGAIN. "Needs some sprucing up"
We stayed here for a weekend and were basically happy with the room itself. It was clean and had all the conveniences we wanted. We were happy the suite had a door for the bedroom and there were two tvs. The hotel however needed some work. When you walk in the lobby the beautiful staircase was missing three of the bannister legs. The pool had NO heat […] at all! The hot tub was very hot the first day and cold and stinky the next. There were never any towels in the pool room so we constantly had to go to the front desk and ask for some. The exercise room was a little small and had filtered water with no cups. Why? The front desk was very nice, when there was someone there. If they could just take care of the pool and exercise room and fix the bannister it would be a pretty decent place! It's all in the details! Indoor Pool temperature was cold, Spa timer didn't work, exercise room bike didn't work, breakfast offerings-minimal, watery oatmeal,no yogurt,no attempt to refresh the food offerings. "Too Noisey"
The room was too noisey. I heard the outside truck traffic continuously thru the night. I got very little sleep. They should do something about deadening the traffic noise in the rooms facing the Highway. I stayed once before in a room in the rear of the Hotel and it was fine. Very dissapointed. "Hotel staff defines rude and mioserable!!!"
Hotel is showing signs of wear, but if the staff was the least bit cordial and friendly it would have been easy to get past. Our room had not been clean after our first night, by 5:00 PM the next day, and when I questioned the front desk, they said it was because they were under-staffed!!!! I explained this was not MY problem and had expected my room […] to be clean when I arrived back to the hotel, after being gone all day from 9:00 AM!!!! The were also very rude and ignorant to another membewr of our party who asked about checking in early on 5/19. In addition, we were there for a youth basketball tournament, and every time they saw our team of 14-year old boys in the lobby, they immediately hid the cookies that had been made available to the guests, which I thought was a staple of Country Inn and Suites! "Country Inn Harrisburg"
My stay at the Country Inn certainly wasnt as pleasant as my stay in May. Although I'm no smoker, I wound up staying in a smoking room" as there were no more available rooms with 2 beds. Don't get me wrong I've stayed in smoking rooms before but this room reaked of smoke so bad we had to ask the cleaning ppl to leave a bottle if sanitizer in the room.
